I think the difficulty is discouraging players from doing it. And the map itself is already not a lot of peoples favorite.
I think it would be wise to make it a little easier so that more people will play it. Super hard challenges are awesome in raids, but open world events should be doable with a map full of pugs.
Been trying to beat it for few days in organized full maps. We either fail by lack of dps or in most cases due to nuhoch lane. The closer one we had so far was one which got killed at nuhoch and rest at 10-20% hp. Mind you it was run full of experienced players.

I’ve been working my kitten off the past few days trying to beat this event and made tons and tons of progress. We’re so close to beating it now. If they nerfed it now all that effort would go to waste. >_> Please let the event remain as is.
Yes! How are we supposed to enjoy this content anymore? It’s been over a week since release! If it hasn’t been beaten yet, then it never will! It’s simply too stressful to figure out all these new mechanics. Can we please have more immoble, non-breakbar bosses where we can stack and just auto attack if we want?
check out this diva
If you don’t think it’s broke, then you obviously have not even tried to complete it, or you’ve never ran Nuhoch lane
the bosses aren’t even the issue, it’s the mechanics that aren’t balanced….the spawn rate on spores is atrocious and you can’t get into bonus rounds

Then how come me and the guys usually fail because of DPS issues rather than spores?

Mechanics are figured out already. Beat it by phase 3 or fail – usually lack of dps cus this boss has too much hp.
Scar line has to protect npc
Rata to repair golems
Ogre to smash eggs
Nuhoch to stomp spores
Yet it keep failing unlike other events in game..interesing inst it? And there is definitely something wrong with spores. Otherwise please post screenshot of spores being at level 7+. Easy to do on eggs. What about spores? Theres barely enough to even make sure it wont fail.

It would be fine if it was the only major meta. Given a choice of splitting players time between the straightforward VB (only needs coord for t4), SIlverwastes and the excellent Auric and Dragions Stand metas, something is going to give.
Tangled is not a map ppl are enjoying (I like it for different reasons though) and so combined with the confusing meta, ppl aren’t flocking to it.
People were able to practically kill the Gerent on Nuhoch Lane before. Don’t give me this “impossible” bs.

Yeah..we got it down too and..what? Nothing, event failed as rest wasnt able to kill in time.
btw. still waiting for spores level 7+ screenshot guys, i know you can do it..If thats too much then level 4 at least

I would, but I’m never on Nuhoch lane. I don’t even know how high their level usually goes. I just know that they managed to get it down, and that’s all that matters. It’s best I stick to the lanes I know.
Yes, the event still failed, but that is not the point of your argument. The point of your argument was that Nuhoch lane is impossible, which it is not.

The problem is you had so many people to dps Nuhoch that you didn’t have enough to dps the other lanes.
You wouldn’t need that many at Nuhoch if they put enough spores to activate the bonus levels….because more bonus levels means more dps on boss during the burn phase.
If they put more spores to push bonus levels, you could spread those extra people from Nuhoch to other lanes and could actually beat it.
Yes, because event scaling totally isn’t a thing and adding more people to any event won’t just raise how much HP it has and thereby make adding more people just pointless. >_>
Please stay on topic. >_>

it’s more people in those lanes to help push their bonus levels too…i’m going to put this in as simple of terms as i can for you
more spores = higher nuhoch bonus level
higher bonus level = equal or more dps on boss = less people needed in Nuhoch
less people needed in Nuhoch = more people for other 3 lanes
more people for other 3 lanes = more people to push bonus in the other 3 lanes
more people to push bonus = more dps in the other 3 lanes as well
more dps = all bosses killed
Doesn’t that prove my point that Nuhoch lane needs more people to push up the bonus level?
More people won’t add anything to SCAR lane. The bonus level goes up at a fixed pace.
Also, you’ve been mentioning this for a while now: But does the bonus level actually increase DPS? Can you describe how you were able to figure this out?

SO in fact you have less experience than i do as i been on all lanes already yet you talking about experience..funy inst it?
The rate of respawn at nuhoch spores definitely need to go up as it barely reachs requirement to even make it. I can literally run around holding ctrl with no spores anywhere. The hp of boss is also questionable.
Just had another fight at ogre lane now, egg level 7 first round, egg level 6 first round, boss at 70% hp. I give up till they dont fix this bs. Wasted definitely too much time (few days)

Leave it as it is. Will make defeating it that much more satisfying.

It does, because for every bonus level you achieve the boss gets 5 stacks of vulnerability put on him, capping at 25 (so any more than 5 bonus levels will help you not at all).

Raids are supposed to be hard.
Open world meta events are supposed to be doable with a random batch of players, not your hand selected leet crew.
Does nobody remember Tequatl?
it has been beaten
the event itself doesnt need a nerf because so far in all my attempts it is always the spore lane that kittens up so maybe theres something there that needs fixing

I have beated raid in the beta and it was walk in the park (actually its more of a dps trial if anything). Im sorry but i played far much harder games than gw2 will ever be starting from Demon Souls. I would consider gw2 cheese, but not hard and challenging by any means.
And again lets compare Mount of Mordemoth meta event difficulty with this one..its way off. If we could get 4th phase/longer time/reduced hp it would be fine. Except the Nuhoch part with spores. Also the cc bar is broken at Scar – boss cancel his attack after 1 second or so unlike other lanes. It olny proves that this event is not working properly.

Theres something wrong with it.
First one is not enough spores at nuhoch lane
Second is the boss hp..to even get it down you need a map of everyone wearing zerker gear and even then i honestly doubt its enough.Out of all events its the olny one which wasnt beated yet. Even organized groups fail it.
The more people you bring the more health the boss is going to get because of hard scaling. Everything in the new content is better off to be done with fewer people rather than more.
Don’t bring more people, bring less. Ideally 5 – 10 and the boss will die much more quickly assuming the players that are present are wise enough to use CC when break bars appear and to dodge AOE’s when necessary

This solution seems like its own problem.
I understand the concept of scaling of course to keep content from being trivialized by sheer numbers. But, on the other hand, part of the “metagaming” of an encounter shouldn’t be managing the size of the group to hit the scaling sweet spot, especially in open world encounters.
Ideally of course an encounter should be equally difficult for any given number of players, except that its inherently more difficult to find 50 people good at something than it is to find 5. So encounters should probably scale at slightly less than a linear amount.
If everyone’s answer is to limit the number of people involved, a reasonable case can be made the scaling is overtuned.
I will give it a try in 45 man group. 10 per lane except nuhoch with 15. Someone want to join on eu in 2 hours? Must be experinced obviously and wearing zerk stuff.

This event is just like TT, nobody will try it without TTS or other organized guilds unfortunately because randumbs are not willing to learn, people ignore the eggs and champions in TT most of the time where it’s the most important thing to kill these in order to succeed.
And let’s not forget how bad are the rewards, by the time I do one TT that still has 20% chance of failing with an organized guild (you have to consecrate an hour to do this thing), I can do Vinewrath 3-4 times…

The problem is having the collection tied to it. It’s literaly the onlything I’m missing for it.
Those spores just dont spawn enough, and the bosses have ridiculous healths/breakbars.
I think the difficulty is discouraging players from doing it. And the map itself is already not a lot of peoples favorite.

no one is doing any of the metas…..
The most popular one appears to be Auric basin, but even then, I’ve only ever seen enough people there to get all 4 sides done once. Mostly its 2 sides, and sometimes even just 1. And most of the time mid way through the events you get a “too few players in this map” notice, and have to choose between shiftign and losing all progress, or staying and getting a poor result because of not enough people.
Tangled depths….lol, no one bothers at all.
As for DS….dont even bother.
Anet really screwed up these maps. No one cares enough about the events to do them, and they require too many people…..who are not on the maps. If events are not being done now, they will just get worse as tiem goes on.

This right here is the answer to almost all of the bosses in HoT, the break bar performs two purposes in most cases, if not all. One is to make cancel what ever skill or escape it was performing and the other is to make the boss vulnerable and enter a burn phase…it applies to every boss with a break bar. If people paid attention and used any CC they have(and any CC will work, doesn’t matter what it is, just some reduce the bar more than others, even a Rangers pet that has a CC will help). Breaking the boss bars will speed up all boss encounters in HoT.
The only issue I’ve found on this meta was getting enough people to show up, most people can’t even figure out how to navigate the map, let alone figure out the mechanics of the fight once they finally stumble in disoriented and confused.

well unless you play on some super secret special servers, thats not the case. maps are pretty empty all the time.

When I first saw your post and about the topic of Tangled Depths (yes it was talking about the META of said map, but, it’s all in the same context of TANGLED DEPTHS – I didn’t start talking about doughnuts or global warming) my mind went immediately to Tangled Depths and my frustration with the maps.
Sorry if my post was regarded as ‘off topic’ but there really was no need to report me for it. I wasn’t doing any intentional derailing of ANY sort, when I see a title, my mind, for whatever reason, filters out the rest and just focuses on a few words – in this case, Tangled Depths. But because of who I am and how my mind works differently than other people, I am now being infracted for it.
I can’t even post anything these days without getting punished for stupid reasons. So thanks. I’m no longer going to post on these forums. I’m sure you will also report this post. Goodbye GW2 forums. I have had it with your infraction-heavy-ridiculousness. Good luck to others posting and be sure to not go off topic or else you might find yourself in the same boat.

DS has been beaten in 6 minutes
I beat it first try, and we had 10 ppl in a Teamspeak, and everyone else was watching a twitch livestream (Gladomer) and the guy co-ordinating(Gladomer) it doesn’t even main PvE(He WvW roams).
most people in the map weren’t even on-stream, they were pugging, and commanders carried it, so basically there was no coordination.
VB and AB are easy mode, I’ve never failed either of them when there was active map chat
With this in mind, none of you points are valid, because it seems that you lack knowledge on how the metas work

This is funny: tldr: I haven’t done this lane, but I know how to make it successful.
Teq is puggable, but requires a bit of prep and organization from people. As with many of the tougher open world things in this game, I’m guessing it only requires around 10-30 who truly know what they’re doing and the rest can kind of zergling their way to victory.
Plus, the fact that someone has completed it is going to make a huge difference to a lot of people. It’s like I used to say about raid bosses in another game… once you’ve got that first kill, peoples’ attitudes do a 180 because they now know that 1) the boss can be killed and 2) there’s a strategy for doing it that works.
Up until that first kill, every strategy in the book is up for scrutiny, but once you’ve got it, there’s confidence to go around.

You must be lucky. Auric Basin’s meta event fails regularly on the maps I’ve been in since launch. In fact, it fails more than it succeeds. So, while your experience is nice, it isn’t, by any means, everyone else’s.

There is no super secret Server I play on. Unless you count EU Servers as super secret. Most of the Time I get on a Map that is busy with doing Events ( organized and even unorganized ) The few cases where I got on a rather empty Map I remembered something the Itzel told me. Amayalli gave us the LFG and the LFG provides.
Really, the LFG is a powerful Tool to fill a Map. I had 2 Maps that were tagged for closing and with the LFG I got the Map really full. ( no closing Tag and noone could join the Map anymore )
If you are encountering just empty Maps than the Megaserver is kitten ing around. Most Players I know don’t have this Problem and the ones who have this Problem are using LFG^^
@ Burtnik: The same was said a few Weeks after Teq was killed. Before it was killed the Tone was like " Noone could ever kill it" after Blackgate killed it " Only the Hardcore Players/Nolifers from Blackgate can kill it" and now it is on Farm for a long Time without being nerfed. Let the People learn the Events they WILL get better and perhaps, you can PUG this Event. It is possible, it just needs Time.
Bringing it up as it been a month and it still fails over and over yet nothing was being done about this joke. Its ridiculous to say the least. Or maybe someone still come in and say that people need more time to adapt?
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.
You just need four people who know what they’re doing to organize the map. Getting enough people isn’t an issue if done during prime time hours. The lane mechanics are very simple. The only difficulty is from people who choose not to listen.
