I was actually looking forward to seeing how this would work with with overcharging and to my surprise it doesn’t. You are completely locked out until the over charge until it is done recycling. Tempest would have opened up some new builds with the fresh air trait, some of which would have made them viable in sustained front line and support.

The counter play would be interesting since over channels can be interrupted.

Even when fresh air procs you still have to wait for the 5 second recharge on air overload.

The support aspect would be very interesting and on par with Herald, but still have it’s own style of play.

I could go on with examples, but there are many and this one change would make tempest a lot more interesting since most people seem meh about it. Besides the very definition of tempest screams air attunement! http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/tempest

The old trait system allowed for way more variety. Most people had an issue with the way ArenaNet reworked how you acquired traits in the old system, not how the traits themselves worked. This new system is very limiting. I would like this new system if there were like 50 professions to play. They made stat building simplistic like a moba but forgot that mobas have like 50-100 different characters.

They also forgot skill splits. In PvE, it is my opinion that in the open world you should feel OP. Save the difficult content for raid instances and the abandoned(an 100% uncommunicated reasons as to why)dungeons. That way, balance for Conquest/WvW/Stronghold don’t affect PvE and vice/versa.

Tempest makes a lot of things useless: Powerful aura, Elemental attunement, Fresh air, weapon swap sigils…
On top of that the only good damage it does is dagger main hand. Overloads are unusable because of the lack of stability, melee combat is impossible because of the lack of block-leap-invul, elite is kitten, cooldowns are too long, immobs from earth overload and aftershock wont stack.
Also, it doesn’t work well at all with staff and scepter.

Animations are so slow when you have swiftness all the skills are behind you.

Worse of all, it doesn’t convey the theme of the Tempest as was showed in the firsts concept arts. When you think storm you expect range aoe not melee. Also even with all that Tempest doesn’t really do anything new beside boonshare, which the revenant does better.

Tons of work have to be invested to make it as interesting as Revenant, Chronomancer, Dare Devil or Reaper elite profession.
