The 3 silver from finishing them is pretty trivial. They do seem to be vendors for different items, but it’s unclear if it’s a daily rotation or not since buying some things changes the offers.

You can buy 3 logs from each vendor each day after you complete the heart, so its a really good rewards, as you can buy ascended backpiece and ascended acessory with it.

It’s good to try new concepts and the new hearts aren’t bad but as a completionist it kills me each day I see the hearts I previously completed become unfinished again. I hope not to see this in future episodes. I would even buy the option (with in-game currency) to keep the hearts finished and the vendors unlocked, even if that loses me some kind of farming possibility or whatever. They’re not the sort of content I’m going to repeat anyway. I’d rather be finishing collections or achievements.
I like the concept of some hearts being repeatable on a daily basis with a long term goal.

Hope to not see something just because of a visual (the empty heart ) ?
So instead of removal of repeatable hearts you should suggest for a-net to implement some kind of double bar hearts. Maybe let the hearth full after you complete it ( showing you already did it ) but the bar under it empty so you can track your daily hearts. They shouldnt remove this concept just because of some people OCD.
I like how there’s a post that says the new hearts is the best next thing to sliced bread, and there’s a post below that says its the worst next thing since the building of the german wall.
I’m with the lovin’ it group, though

Hardly surprising — some people have always loved hearts; some have always hated them.
I can deal with the hearts, but I still like large scale meta events more. Once i’ve completed all the achievements and explored the entire place, there won’t be much reason to ever revisit that map unless I’m looking to make a bunch of quick karma or get those unbound magic gathering tools.
At least with a large scale boss like the bloodstone map, it’ll give me more of a reason to go back once all the content is done. However I do respect Anet for trying them again, even though many people in the past viewed them as boring.
Personally, I never hated doing the hearts. They were part of the map completion process. This resetting makes it more difficult for map completion and reminds me way too much of the rep farming in WoW. Forced into it there just to get my flight form in the new lands. Now, it feels as if I am doing that stuff again. Wasn’t my cup of tea in WoW and won’t be here.

Well, it’s not as if they have anything exclusive gated behind completing them however many numbers of times.
You can map complete everything else and then move to the hearts last, and the only thing that you can buy that’s limited per day are the petrified wood, which you can gather from the logging nodes.
I hated rep grinding too, and I’d probably hate the hearts if they were the only source of petrified wood too, but they’re just options. I’ll probably just ignore them most of the time, do they when I feel like it and still get enough wood for an ascended trinket eventually.

Yep, just expressing my opinion like anyone else. And it’s not only because of the empty heart but also the re-locked vendor.

I’m not suggesting their removal from this map, which is the only place they currently exist. I’m just not keen on their addition to future maps. Nobody’s going to remove the concept. It’s already out there. We’re just expressing our interest or disinterest in it’s implementation, which is what forums are for.

I’d like Anet to develop a better system for “you can do this heart again” than literally resetting them.
If they’re going to do the repeatable heart thing going forward, it’s something they really need to work on.

I love that hearts made a comeback, not a huge fan of them being repeatable though.

you dont have to, though. Do them once for the map completion reward. And then only if you want 3 free petrified wood logs
Agreed. I like the three logs you get. But I was surprised that I needed to complete all the hearts again to do map completion.
you only do map completion once. the first time you hit 100% on the map you get the reward. Subsequent times you only unlock the merchant. So unless you’re someone who’se annoyed at not seeing a 100% icon on the world map, there’s nothing you need to do after initial completion to consider the world completed

I personally am not a fan of repeatable hearts. This game already had too many daily tasks. More and more coming with each new map…
I’d be more happy if they were normal hearts but the items you buy from them are once per day, like the Pact Supply vendors.

I’ve always been against dailies, but my biggest issue with the repeatable hearts is that you must complete all in one day to get map completion. The current ones are simple enough so they are fairly easy to do, but they are not really fun to do all the time because they tie you to one place. Furthermore if this becomes a trend (which seems to be the case, just look at Bloodstone fen daily extravaganza, now Ember Bay…) it may start to cause issues in having to finish too many just to map complete a place. I don’t want to ignore a certain part of map completion just because I know I can’t finish the whole map that day because of x y z. At least in Tarir I can choose to do west, east, north, south or a mix and still get rewards. I really prefer the reward structure of HoT maps by far, SW/Dry Top aswell. Give people their long term goals and give them the option to progress at their pace.

Just get the rest of the map first. You can then complete the hearts on any day after. All five hearts won’t take half an hour.
The hearts rock — one of the many good things about chapter 2.
This is how Hearts should have been from launch. I love being able to redo them. It also opens the possibilities for new things to be added to vendors going forward. I hope this is a portent of things to come in both new LS maps and the expansion.
I just got to Ember Bay, so I am curious to see how the repeatable Hearts work. I’ve always been fine with Hearts (just not the ones that can be completed only one or two ways and don’t fill up fast. Argh! Lol).
For people who have mentioning their map completion % dropping after a reset, it makes me wonder if:
1.) It’s a bug
or
2.) It depends what time of day you are working on the Hearts, such as around Daily Reset time

I like the repeatable hearts. They can be completed by combat alone if you choose – and I like killing stuff. AND they provide a path to earn ascended accessories with HoT stats previously only obtainable through raids. Win!
I like Bloodstone Fen too btw, for the same reason. Ascended Viper’s rings!
