Thanks Anet!

Had a great time with the expansion! The maps are massive, varied and brilliant (Auric Basin is beautiful), the masteries let you feel progression, the cutscene in City of Hope is awesome, Taimi’s holomarkers were really funny.
Super fun, had a really good day – just wanted to say thanks ^^
Thanks back. I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself.

Thanks for the expansion! Can please everyone it seems.
I agree ^^, also never seen an expansion launch that runs so smoothly. Well done!
Yeah I’m still enjoy it 24 hours later. Napped for three hours during the day
LOVE the first map (as far as i’ve explored, since i only have glider)….the mobs are fun to fight, though a tad on the easy side compared to BWE2, but better than BWE3….which makes exploring solo very doable on any class. the vertical layered nature of the map is incredibly fun to explore.
great stuff so far.
MARA (EU) Gunnar’s Hold
Love it. Best MMO experience I’ve had in a long while since the glory days of others.
+1 nice tread too much hate on this forum, love HoT sucks I’m at work today :p
Thanks for the expansion, and I’m really enjoying the story.

I agree ^^, also never seen an expansion launch that runs so smoothly. Well done!
don’t want to jinx anything, but totally agree. well done Anet.
MARA (EU) Gunnar’s Hold
Can’t agree to the fullest…. But that is becouse I havent experienced some of the parts you mentioned
But the things I have played at the moment has given me the best Expansion experience ever! I love how there ara almost events everywhere and that the enemies don’t just die in two seconds (Except when I play my Zerker guardian), gliding is awesome and the wing skin addition is really cool. I know they cant logicly be used to fly but it would be nice to have Holo wings, shatter wings and other wings as glider skins too
I beleave I am going to be able to play this game for another 3 years! Ty Anet for the most awesome experience ever!
There is only one thing I want to complain about though… I was going to get myself a Hero Point in the beginning and there was this Morfrem fight I had to do and the boss was a champion and a little tricky but I could handle him but it was impossible to beat it alone before the timer run out. That made me pretty sad… But hey, next time when I have more time I am going to wait for more players to come or have some friends help me. But what I mean is that I think that difficulty should not be a timer.

It’s almost like there are some players that are actually enjoying it and want to express that.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
Hey Anet devs:)
As most of players actually play the game and really enjoy it, I would like to drop by and say thanks as well (“paid post” comment to this imminent :P). As there is some negative buzz around – yes, people who are unhapy, come here and post. Those of us (most) who enjoy HoT – they just play. Thus I’m in need of giving positive feedback to staff who constantly work hard to fix and polish the game.
Big THANK YOU!!!
It’s gonna be another day full of awesome experience I’m sure. Untill now I enjoyed every bit of what I did with HoT. Even Dragon Hunter for my beloved main guardian seems to be quite decent despite what I feared it would be (yes, I expected it to be total disaster actually, but I decided to wait and see).
My thoughts on why some people are unhapy with HoT?
Okay, so. We live in times when in real life we are in rush. Some of people here are so used to it and they try to do the same thing in game – rush fast to get to the end (btw, why? Why burn out the content and have nothing to do later?). I understand you, guys. Some of your arguments sound valid. But on the other hand – being aware of that problem, try to enjoy every bit of what you do in game, even if it takes some time to get there where you want. And this expansion allows that.
I enjoy the moment, take time to dwell into it, instead like in everything else I’m doing in my real life – constant rush at work, at gym, at home with duties. Dah… finally there comes entertaiment – my “sacred” time when I can relax, slow down and just enjoy myself doing stuff.
Like a good coffee on saturday morning;)
Yep, well I hope that at least some of disapointed people will get to the point they’ll start to enjoy the game I wish you all guys that.
Thanks!
PS: Sorry for spelling glitches, not an english native
PPS: Of course there are some problems with launch, but it’s normal with every MMO. And this far it seems like one of the smoothest expansion launches I’ve ever experienced. Good job, Anet keep up the great work!
I’m just having a blast leveling my Rev through old content and the Halloween stuff, haven’t played in like a year so I’m rusty, but that just makes it better
Can’t wait for gliding.
I’m also joining the others in saying you’ve done a great job with the expansion Arenanet.
So a big thank you for your work and hoping u can continue releasing content as good as HoT in the future .
I enjoy it too and I believe it’s just a matter of time until they delete the bugs. The two things I like at most is to play the story as a sylvari (the voice in my head and feeling the mistrust everywhere) and gliding, I just love it.
Thank you.
Im having a blast playing in the new map yes i want my reaper but im enjoying the process . Died at a hero piont i tried to solo that needed a group. People rocked up added me to there group and we just carried on helping each other with the rest of the content was awesome.
Thanx great work

I have to say I wasnt that excited about HoT until the last few days. I am loving it..maps are awesome,, loving the music. Those who dont like it well…there are plenty of other games to play. For me HoT has given GW a new lease on life. Having played GW1 and GW2 since release,, I wasnt sure you could deliver. But In my opinion you have, it is not what I expected and I am glad. Love flying… getting really good at left and right banking..to hit the mark with pinpoint accuracy. Exploring is so much fun. Will right more once I open up some more areas and experience more events. Great job.
HoT is wonderful so far and well worth the price. The music, art direction, and map design are wonderful, and having the characters speak directly to further the story really adds to my sense of immersion. I enjoy the fact that the mobs are challenging for a solo player exploring and I have to say that it’s kind of exciting when another player happens along and joins the fight for a while. Also, the events I’ve done so far have all been great.
Thanks so much for your hard work on this, Devs. You’ve really turned out a top-notch expansion.
EDIT: There is one thing that would make it even more awesome – If at some point we run into Explorers Amoxtli, Savio, and Kitabu out there in the jungle
(edited by SimBilly.8047)
I also want to say big thank you Anet.
I have really enjoyed this expansion. The launch was very smooth, maps are beautiful, audio team has done some great work, there is a lot of new stuff to do and finally I have to do something else than just auto attack my way through in pve.
I’m not really into gliding but I know many are so I’m not complaining.
So far I have enjoyed the story and I liked the cinematic in City of Hope too
Just did the Patriarch Wyvern fight on the first map. We won at about 0:30 seconds before the sunrise.
Amazing design, amazing fight. I’m being blown away by what they did achieve with this expansion. It’s even better than SW, and I considered it to be the best map of the game.
Love the expansion!
Great map design, vast and atmospheric, packed with cool new enemies (dinosaurs!!!) Jungle and ruins are adding new charm/ideas to the locations and also the new hylek races are great!
So far i´m just speakign about the look since i´ve only scrached the surface of all the new content (masteries, elite-specialisations, revenant etc.)
Thank you ArenaNet!
Best regards
Ben
P.S.: And congratulations to the smooth and mostly bugless launch!
Yes, I played for a bunch of hours and I am amazed with this new expansion. This is my first time I can participate in something as it just begins, I thought it might not be that nice and yet here I am, grinding through the jungle, exploring things and being utterly astonished by the good work you guys did !
Last but not least, a very important thing: DON’T YOU DARE NERF THE DIFFICULTY LEVEL OF PVE.
Players that were molded by years of soft core solo playing mmorpg’s now are breaking apart because they can’t handle what a true MMORPG’s are supposed to be: A grand festival of grinding and experiencing the true immersion and the great feeling of accomplishing something after hours of trying and improving.
GREAT EXPANSION!
I KNEW I COULD TRUST YOU ARENANET!

Heh, I do have some issues here and there as far as immersion factor goes. Other than that, I am relatively pleased with the expansion. I knew my 100 bucks was well spent.
Thank you Arena Net for this amazing expansion! I have found myself immersed in this sense of exploration and just adoration for the beauty of the game. The new maps, and old, are fun to re-explore. I don’t feel like I’m grinding at all and those that do, they do it purposefully. I enjoy gliding around and finding new nooks and crannies in the maps, just like I do when I play core game. There is lore everywhere! The Living Story has surpassed my expectations by far and I’m only in Tarir just now.
Thank you for the smooth launch and the live patches to fix what you can! Thank you for listening to our feedback!
Thank you for the 400 HP gate. Thank you for not being afraid to have players work towards something that deserves to be Legendary or Elite. Thank you for all of your hard work. And thank you for this expansion. Stay awesome!

The only thing I’m a little dissapointed about is the speed at which you train your mastereies. The speed is too fast I think. Also, I think there should be more effort for gaining elite specs. And It is not a sarcasm – I honestly think it is too easy. And the reason why there are some people whining and complaining on the forums (they are a small minority thou, less than 1% of player base) is just because Anet is making some parts of the game too easy in favor of these whining guys. Don’t NERF it more ANET, please. It is good as it is.
Anet employee? because no one just randomly post something like that in the middle of this hero points rage!!
People that have this hero point rage don’t even know what they are talking about.
You are basically getting a second class and you idiots thought it would be unlocked right away.
It makes no sense.
I love the progression. I want everything right now too, but I always do. Its something that will keep alot of us playing the kitten game which is what we wanted.
i have non stop fun since playing HoT even with a few bugs here and there. Best moment was doing some escort event and kittens hit the fan until a small band of heroes show up to turn the tables. they had a weird guild tag kinda like the anet logo. Was fun playing with the workers and they even dropped a hero banner for us to enjoy.
Thanks ANet, compared to some of the other lunches i been a part of, this was the smoothest
1. Trahearne 2. Scarlet 3. The sylvari that keeps spamming “More violets I say, less violence.”
I rarely post, but I feel this needs to be said, I absolutely love the xpac so far.
The verticality of the maps reminds my of Lotro’s Mines of Moria xpac, which I also loved It makes exploration so much more interesting. The visuals and design are also gorgeous.
I also personally appreciate having to work towards my elite spec, but I can understand why this isn’t for everyone.
Personally, you made the perfect expansion for me, thankyou!
Thanks for a great expansion. I don’t have much else to say.
Thank you as well. This has been one of the smoothest expansions/live updates that I’ve seen in most any game. You guys and gals have done one fantastic job.

Lol!! why getting a new class right away doesn’t make sense ?
Good luck with your PvE btw!

And people that are happy with the elite specialization/Hero point system are 1X10^-6%. Again, that’s different from people happy with the new content overall (including myself)
Ty for the expansion.
I have one big problem with it. Too much to do! It’s going to take me months to get all the Masteries and the hero points!!
Like that’s a bad thing, huh.
(I love that exp after 80 has meaning now as it unlocks more character progression rather than going to waste)
ANet may give it to you.
Best expansion ever with actual hard mobs . Haters gonna hate as usual

No WvW player will hate on you, PvE players, ever. You guys enjoy that, but we don’t play GW2 for that type of “farming”
Yes I love HoT and am enjoying it SOOOO much so thanks Anet!!!!!

You’re not understanding my signature at all if you think that.
A touch of learn to read here.
ANet may give it to you.
yep, HoT fixed everything. The story is gr8, bosses are hardish and fun, there’s a metroidvania feel to the maps, and best of all, I can always go back and relax in non HoT content when I’m burned out :p
I’m really loving it as well. My only real complaint is how difficult it is to get around the maps before you get the gliding and mushroom masteries, due to the multiple map layers, difficult mobs, and few waypoints (although I’m not inherently against any one of those things, and I do get confused on new maps pretty easily, so take that with a grain of salt). But I love having a point to post-80 exp again, all the new cool stuff to unlock, Auric Basin is gorgeous, the music is wonderful, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the story so far. I’m also excited to find out what type of masteries we’ll get in the future, even though I’ve only finished 5 of the ones we have now.
I agree, Expansion is actually really fun. Environment is really beautiful and feels so open its breath taking. Content is actually challenging and makes your profession really shine.
Story is really well presented, Love the new Living story season 2 style.
Music is top notch as expected.
Verdant brink (havent visited the other zones yet) feels alive there is so much movement everywhere…. foliage, vines, fires/smoke, cloth, falling sand/rubble etc..
Mobs, ohh there are SOOOOO many mobs I just cant believe it and they’re all beautifully animated! If this keeps up in the other maps too I have no clue how they managed to make so many!
As for the Hero Point rage,my advice as always is to take things slow. For those of us who do I bet this isnt a problem. Like I am already playing my reaver, yes I only have 1 skill unlocked and no traits, so? As I play I will unlock more slowly. I will get more powerful as I go along, still can use my sword, still can go into reaper shroud so mechanically its nearly all there, I will just get better and better as I master it (pun intended) its a mastery after all, what mastery would it be if you get to your full potential by just pressing a button?
+1 Definitely all I’d hoped for so thanks to Anet from me too. Also glad to see that Anet seem to know that the loudest minority who grumble about everything aren’t representative of the whole community, many of whom are too busy (and much happier) actually playing the game to whine in forums.
10/10 smoothest launch ever.
Aye, I would reply more eloquently, but I have too much fun playing the expansion.
Amazing enviroment, first time i moved my camera up and my breath stoped. I don’t know who has got this idea of vertical zone, but I salute him.
I play gw2 really long, and I must tell you Anet, you have mind for epic encounters. From battle of LA to HOT you work very well and I wish to continue with this concept.
PS: Meaby one day I stop play GW, but i never forget on tybalt leftpaw and his: “I am demmi beatlestone…, and two, mmm apples”
So.. I start play scrapper. "
