Well, I dunno if the Adrenaline Mushrooms can help bypassing the cooldown, but problem is that I can’t get to it in a short notice, with only lvl4 itzel mastery…

The toxic bacon skill challenge feels extremely unreasonable, it feels as if it’s all about less than a second window of success…

I’m a casual PvE adventurer, I enjoy combat, adventure and helping, but not farming.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.

Try this method:

Pick up the bacon.
CTRL-right click your 6 skill.
Watch.

Doing that auto starts the bacon nibbling, and auto-attack auto-fires the heal the moment it’s off CD.

If it doesn’t work for you that way, then press 6, give it a few beats of health drop, then CTRL-right click the 6 to start the auto-heal a little later.

I have managed it the manual way (I have good latency), the full auto-heal way (but there was a Chronomancer there at the time dropping alacrity so I don’t know for sure it worked on auto), and since then I’ve had adrenal mastery. Still, I twigged to the auto-heal method after someone from Australia mentioned it as the only way to beat a high ping in this HP. Apparently it worked for that person.

Use a food that increases your health and gives you a health boost per second also, if you’re having trouble. Mango pie is the best for that. It’s a level 80 food that increases your total health and gives you 85 health per second. You can also have a ranger drop healing spring on you.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

I was able to do this on all my characters by eating the bacon, waiting exactly 3 ticks of health then casting heal and putting it on auto cast.

From what I’ve gathered it operates on a percentage basis for damage and heals5% damage every second and the heal is 25% of your health back with a seven second cooldown.

The key is timing that first heal right at 25# health, so around 5 seconds. Then just spam it. Alclarity also works and no, regeneration and food effects, as well as all healing are nullified after you eat the bacon.

The challenge of this hero point is just knowing when to start the first heal.

All the damage/healing done is % based.

Knowing this you want to wait with your first heal so that you heal as much as possible while not waiting to long (it’s 3 or 4 ticks in).

Basically the entire challenge gets decided by your first heal. If you overhealed (aka you healed to early), you won’t have heals ready often enough to keep yourself alive. If you healed to late you wasted time and again will run into health problems.

Then there are multiple ways to make the challenge easier:

- mango pie
- mesmer providing alacrity

The challenge is absolutely doable without any outside mechanics. The autocast option even ensures your heal will get triggered as soon as it’s available.

Mango Pie isn’t even necessary. Use Peach Pies. They cost a measly 2 copper, and will also do the job.

I’ve done this successfully without getting healed by others or by foods. The only tricky part is the timing to trigger the first heal and that depends a little bit on your lag at the time. If low latency, wait to suffer two ticks of loss. With higher latency, start it sooner.

Why does ArenaNet have to make things so complicated?

It should be simple.

Why do I have to press the button with every character?

I think this HP is offensive to Vegetarians. It forces those to eat meat even if they don’t want to. A-Net please change this!1!!1

/Sarcasm

On-topic. As stated before, this can be done without any boosts. I have done so 3 times now, and the trick is as simple as explained.
Wait 2-3 seconds, hit the heal and continue doing so of cooldown.

LOL no really, if you have problem with this just don’t play games. I never had any issues on this ‘challenge’, just hit the button after a few ticks and either use autocast or press ‘6’ after < 1.0 seconds left of CD.

pick up the meat → eat it → wait 5 ticks of damage → set heal on auto use → wait another minute → you are done

thats basicly how you do it. works almost 100% and requieres no healing or mesmer

Best and most consistent strat.

Bacon mode is weird about healing boosts and regen, so it doesn’t always work. I’ve gotten successful healing off of someone else’s engi turrets, but my druid buddy nor my regen banner would work, even though I was getting regen stacks.

Yeah, waiting for three ticks of damage before starting to heal has always worked for me. For those without a clue I bring my chronomancer to shower them in alacrity.

After failing miserably in more than ten attempts (in three of them “dying” for less than 2 seconds) I tried with the mango pie: every attempt was succesful.

Mango pie provides 88 HP reg x second, and the trial last 60 seconds so heals for a total amount of 5280 hp, which is larger than an extra use of the heal button. Is a very safe and eclectic method available to every class/character in the game. Fortunately no PED test at the end :P

Easy mode: Get out a calculator and calculate 75% of your health pool (Health multiplies by 0.75). Press the heal when you first reach this value. Now you will win without the mastery.
