The next necro spec should be called gravekeeper for the amount of necro-ing that happened here, but on a serious note it would be very surprising if the Druid is not based around support/aoe capability as the Ranger community has been demanding this for years.

Radagast and Gandalf are as much druids as they are wizards by profession, and both only show rudimentary, even potion imbued healing powers most of the time.
Gandalf for example is unable to cure the poisoned Bilbo, only Elrond as a fully dedicated healer is able to do so.

Thats misleading. Wizards like all Magi are masters of magic.

Druids use a certain kind of magic while also it being a religious form of magic.

not all Wizards practice the same religion of Druidism which is why they arent Druids. They may practice similar magic, but that doesnt make them druids.

Ok, how about Magigimix then? A classical, sickle carrying central Europe Druid, relying heavily on potions, herbs and scrolls.

I find it hilarious that this discussion is everyone talking about how it doesn’t have to be healing and ways it could different, and it turns out it is the most heal oriented build we’ve seen in this game so far.

It’s just a crappier cleric staff guardian with a bunch of healing redundancy that in PvE is made obsolete by just laying down a water field and having people blast it to get everyone up to full in an instant.

As in, I don’t think they could make a healing class with even wimpier damage and less blocks with no boon generation as a downgrade.

What makes you think the druid has anything to do with healing?

ummmm, maybe because almost every skill and utility using the staff (because it’s completely wasted with any other weapon using the spec) on druid has healing, to yourself or others. just sayin……

And so obviously rushed and thrown together at the last minute. It has nothing that others classes can’t do, and they do other things better as well. Theirs a reason they delayed it – the original design was gutted and they came up with this. Which is still awful.

Given the way GW2 was made there is no place for a healer or a tank in a group.

Oh my… didn’t we cry for weeks now ????

Get over it, there will be haler and tanks and that is a step into the right direction
especially when they announced that they change toughness.

I love these changes

You’re “correcting” a post made 8 months ago, when Druid was nothing but speculation.

You, too. look at the date stamps on the post you’re quoting.

I like the Druid. He is fun to play in WvW-Partys and a pretty good Bunker in PvP. In PvE he is also pretty fun for open Events and in combinaiton with the new pets, he can doe some minor dmg via Smokescale aswell (25 Might-Stack on the fly leads to about 20k Burst dmg via Smokescale).

The only think i did not like whas the Staff-Idle-Animation. The Druid is holding his staff like a quarterstuff, but used it like a caster-staff. So he should have this idle-animation. Just don’t look right with the quarterstaff-Stanceanimation.
