Hey everyone,

I wanted to ask the devs something I wished they addressed in the precursor livestream when they spoke specifically about the Juggernaut. What I want to ask is what will happen with Silver Doubloons?

Silver Doubloons is a odd item out of all the legendary weapons specific materials needed, Bifrost needs dyes while most others requires lodestones. The issue is though Silver Doubloons are specific to characters between lvl 21 and 35. When most people start working on a legendary they start at max level because its considered a end game goal. This philosophy is being made concrete by the introduction of the legendary mastery track which can only be leveled when at lvl 80. See the problem? You want us to go back but somehow make us move forward with our progression.

Many farmers for this item create alts and log in daily to do the jumping puzzles or try their hand at the mystic toilet. Both methods of which seem to contradict your idea of a journey rather then praying to the almighty RNG. Now there is hope you introduced back awhile ago for the ones who want to feel they are tangibly working towards a specific material.

This article talks about map bonuses to provide a directed activity in search of your legendary materials needed. Yet Silver Doubloons are specific to lower level characters, will this system include Doubloons into the map bonuses regardless of level? Will other methods open up for farming these Doubloons for the intended max level character?

All of this I hope can be answered to clarify where people will stand in the hunt for the Juggernaut.

They did, indeed, offer Silver Doubloons (to any level character, same with all other offered mats) during the Beta Map Rewards implementation. (Which means I should probably sell my considerable collection of SD before launch…maybe…though maybe not….so conflicted!)

Good luck.

Didn’t know they implemented the map rewards into the beta thank you, Though were the rates of getting the map rewards fair or slow?

It cycles through a list for each map, and awards the mat(s)/item(s) every other content required completed, i.e. event, jumping puzzle, mini-dungeon, etc.

Or so it seemed from beta experiences. No idea if it has or will be changed, as far as time/amount awarded.

Here’s what is known, so far: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Map_bonus_reward

That reward list looks quite promising. Ectoplasm and lodestones just for running events and such in particular maps? I really think this is a great way to get the maps filled.

You can farm Silver Doubloons on your level 80 by killing Dredge in Lornar’s Pass.

Map rewards go off of the map’s levels, not character levels. We’ve already seen some dat divers pull out the full non-HoT/SW/Dry Top list of map rewards (presuming no change since).

If you want a material for level 21-35 characters, go to a map that includes levels 20-35 on a week that gives the material you’re after.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Yeah so I’m looking at fields of ruin, the one map I see so far with the doubloons, and they show up at 1000, 3000, 5000, and 7000 events.
If as people are saying its 100 points per event that’s at the 10/30/50 and 70 event marks.
70 events for 4 doubloons.

Yeah not going to help in the slightest as is.

There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon

its a “legendary journey” so its going to take awhile. They are giving you this easy path to make precursors, how much more hand holding does everyone need? Its been this way for 3 years and plenty of people have Juggy, buy buying and by farming.
