Who in their right mind thought this would be fun? It’s just a whole lot of walking.
And the jumping rocks with the disabled updrafts – nice touch. More walking back and forth.
Well in a party of 5 it might not be as bad I guess since everyone can go fetch one. It was boring solo but it wasn’t that bad.

That one just doesn’t seem well thought out at all.
So I’ve just completely failed this after spending about half an hour wandering around gathering the first 4 totems, only to discover, the hard way, on the last one that the updrafts don’t work. Spiraling down into the canyon, I was teleported to an open area completely surrounded by vines, with no way to get out and try again.
This would have been sort of okay if there had been ANY indication that these particular updrafts wouldn’t work. But there wasn’t.
Horrible design. I expect better from this game.
is this the one totem on the tree branch ? just pick it up and move up by jumping on the rock ledges , past the beetle. make sure you have stability though, the beetle will knock you back and you’ll fall if you don’t.
It’s usually a good idea to actually read the thread before replying.

You can get out – there is a spot where you can jump on the vines and jump over them. It only took a few seconds to find.
Not my favorite achievement, but it wasn’t all that difficult, just annoying.
Anet seems to know this one is annoying, since they have this text with the open-world totem achievement:
“No, you don’t have to carry them all the way back…”

I wouldn’t put it past one developer poking fun at another for creating that boring Achievement.
It’s a change of pace in terms of achievements, but after two its just tedious. There is also no puzzle achievement since there is a big green blob showing you the way.

You DON’T? I didn’t see that text and I just did carry them all the way back. Most boring waste of my time ever. Seriously. Who thought that achievement would accentuate the game?

The instanced one does requiring carrying them back. The open world one does not.

The totem achievement was more like ’let’s see if everyone can find them’. But those that aren’t interested in that basically use a guide anyway, but I didn’t find this one particularly annoying. As for the rabbit achievement in Tarir, just bring friends and only lure the veteran to the entrance. If you time your dodges and attacks right (which also dodges) you can take him down very fast with little deaths. Took me and 2 friends about 5 minutes or so.
