You do realize that none were as lucrative as “multiloot” — they might not even be as lucrative as uni-loot (the kind I always, just a single map), depending on how many grand/great chests you get).
I get distracted/bored too quickly, so multi-loot never appealed to me. That doesn’t mean I can’t see how loot-ful it was for those who enjoyed it.

As lucrative? I don’t know… I remember having some pretty good loot outside out AB even without doing all the meta event. Anyway I guess I was just lucky enough. Edit: I agree with your comment on multilooot. It looks so exploit-y and as boring as the chest run in silverwaste

I feel better, I thought I was the only one. It was mildly useful when I showed up late and nothing was on LFG I could randomly /squadjoin and get lucky some squad wasn’t full.

Hi, recently returned to the game. With multiloot you mean the auric basin meta event? Are they changing the event or the chest looting in the end?
You were able to open chests on every map, after completing the AB meta once, making it between 8x and 25x the intended reward. This is now fixed, in that you get exactly 1x the loot intended, because the number of chests you can open is fixed, regardless of which map you open them on.

That took me back a long time! Awesome performnce by Rutger Hauer that had me in tears!
I fail to see how jumping from server to server makes it fun
It was a little like a jumping puzzle… but with running. How fast can I run? How fast can I clear these maps? How many grand chests can I open in one event?
Once you managed 80 you wanted 90. Once you managed 90 you wanted 100. It was fun… and the salvaging after was just the icing on the cake.

Jumping into this multiloot several times and seeing how it progressed, I was impressed by the players ability to shape and reshape it to better fit their goals. This is the only place where I have seen this happen anywhere in the game. Sure, guilds and parties can work well together to accomplish great tasks but this was players exploiting the game in numerous and ingenious ways. Anet didn’t call it an exploit, they called it exploity, meaning there were likely even more ways players had not yet come across.
Sure there should not have been the ability to begin with, but many games have the sense to create open area’s where the players can create some of the game themselves and then the game takes full advantage of the players creation when it proves enjoyable content.
I see these as not a lot different. No economy crashed. Everyone was able to make their own choice to take part or not. So, I too to bid a fond farewell to the creativity that was the AB Multiloot.

Just to point this out, there were many ways the community has come together to get stuff done, or found creative ways to pass certain obstacles, particularly if you were part of the dungeon or fractal community.
There was one part of the harpy fractal where you could use an engineer skill to destroy a pile of rocks barring your way, and you could skip the an entire part of the fractal just by having an engineer with you. Needless to say that was fixed.
There are still probably people who run all three paths of Ascalon Catacombs in one run without leaving the dungeon.

actually parts of the market were affected, for example the market supply for ecto prior to HOT was 60k, mid last month it was 850k. Which meant for people who did not want to exploit their ecto income dropped by 20%, so yes it did affect other people.
