With HOT rounding the counter in the next 3-30 months, it’s time for some wild, possibly unfounded speculation. Here we go.

PvE
– New legendaries (I know precursor crafting is a thing, but I don’t know if HOT is dropping with new legendaries day 1)
– New dyes that cost 300-1000g
– New dungeon(s)
– New paths on old dungeons
– More FOTM Levels 51-60, etc
– New FOTM maps (Abbaddon pls)
– Fractal weapon chest
– Achievements

PvP
– Nothing (strongholds map doesn’t count)
– …. new PvP browser UI changes
– Celestial nerf

WvW
– New maps are coming
– New seasons achievos

GvG
- With guild halls coming in, there’s a good chance (0.01%) that we might see GW1 style GvG combat.

Things we want, but will probably never see:
– ‘Use Stack’ option letting you use 1-250 stacked items at once with fewer clicking.
– Better friends list features (I just want to assign people into groups, ie TPvP, FOTM, etc)
– GvG
– SAB
– New TPvP titles, Champion Phantom II, Champion Phantom III, Champion Phantom IX, etc

Add your own ideas!

Jokes aside, I’m optimistic for the xpac.

Wild speculation you say….How about Guardians actually get a movement speed buff and a better shield.

Ooops that should have been posted in Wishful Thinking thread instead.

They did say “a handful” of the new legendaries are dropping day one. Or at least the ability to make them. Hopefully even people with mats saved up can’t insta-make one without doing some precursor collection work.

The shield needs a major rework, but Guardians are one of the most mobile classes in the game with leaps, their versions of teleports, and potential for 100% swiftness uptime. There’s also a thread on the Guardian forum discussing why Guardians don’t have a 25% movement increase ability/trait.

PvE
– ‘Random’ option for mini pets where it picks randomly every time you zone, and/or swaps every 10 minutes.

Seriously? I wonder why then my thief and warrior feel like they can move around the map and disengage soooooo much easier than a guard.

Because they are more mobile than the Guardian. I said “one of the most”, not the most. Try moving around a map or disengaging from a fight faster than a Guardian with a Mesmer or Necromancer for example.

Regardless, Guardians are not lacking mobility outside of combat for sure. Within combat the idea of a Guardian is to not leave and not need to, though it can be done. I have no issues at all traversing maps very quickly on my Guardian.

PvX
– I think they will do a lot more with infusions. Players sitting on a little wealth want to spend more for that little extra. Right now, if you aren’t an avid fractal runner and +5 isn’t worth 100-200g, infusions offer very little.

Personally, I’m holding off on getting top tier infusions until I see what comes out. I don’t want to spend 2k gold on +5s when +6 is probably right around the corner.

I am thinking about the same thing… but does +6 make that much of a difference.

…Yes I am running out of things I want to achieve in GW2 haha.
