The last single fights are incredibly exhausting and the Mordemoth fight is unbelievably long and hard. It will take hours of mindless repetitions and tries to complete.

This game is supposed to be fun not a depressing dauting exercise.

The last part of personal story needs huge nerf, everything has to be at least three times easier and faster.

Maybe that’s how you experienced it. But i managed to finished it in 1 try and within 30 minutes. Maybe because I easily adapt to certain stuff.
I think the last story is in a good spot atm. Not too hard and not too easy.

Depends on your class. I find all encounters like this to be 9,000x easier when doing them with my Ranger than with my Warrior, and 9,000x easier on the warrior than they are on the Thief.

It’s interesting that you say that, considering I was able to kill it in the first attempt in probably 30 minutes.

Maybe the issue is that you’e grown accustomed to mobs falling over at your feet the moment you try to swing your sword. I guess Mordremoth just isn’t into that whole idea.

I don’t see how that’s “incredibly exhausting” for a final boss.

If Legend of Zelda came out tomorrow, the usual
forum dwellers would go nuts about the need to
“grind” to get exp, new swords, new potions etc

Yes, some classes are inherently disadvantaged in certain PvE encounters, and it kind of sucks. Many of the same complaints were leveled at Living World Season 2, for that matter, where a lot of fights that were trivial on classes with a ton of inherent defenses were almost impossible to solo for classes without those advantages. While I’m fine with the open world content being difficult and requiring a group (even the Champion hero challenges), story content absolutely should be soloable on any class.

“solo’able” is a varying statement. The lengths to which a class has to go to solo said content is what we are talking about.
on a thief you have dive, dodge, duck, run, heal, swap, heal, and generally use every trick in the book to solo something that a ranger can just stand back and AA at.

Any event with a melee range stun is a cake walk for a ranger, while neigh ‘undoable’ on a lone class, by that I mean without a pet.

Though can you really say you solo’ed something in the truest sense of the word as a ranger considering you’ll never be without your pet?

Did it pretty fine as a sword/shield + greatsword chronomancer. I wouldn’t’ve had any problems if not for the bugs. I’d say let them fix all those crippling bugs before we really pass judgement on its difficulty

That’s just a matter of nullifying mechanics versus actually dealing with them. You know how else to avoid a melee range stun? Using the dodge that all classes get by default.

OK, you tried ? So now you understand that THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE, EXHAUSTING, ANNOYING, FRUSTRATING EVERYTHING YOU WANT, But absolutely not FUN and you’ve not the feeling that you’re doing something good of your time !

Normally, I’m not the typical kid that is only here to criticize all that people (especially here ANET) do, but this time I really believe that you’ve never tried this level when you’ve made it … That’s not fun & undoable or i’m sorry to say that but you’re robot, not human !

I implore you guys from ANET, please read this thread and nerf this boss (By 2 at less)

I’m on Ele and couldn’t get past the first mini-boss on my own- after going on 30+ minutes and only getting it down 2% I gave up. Today I tried with a group and the mini-bosses were fine, but then the incredibly buggy final(?) boss ruined it. It refused to let me glide out of the arena at all. I would go to the air current, it pushed me up, and the glider would not deploy. Then add in that he gets harder if you need to reset and we gave up.

Just done it on Daredevil. Die a few time because updraft not working . Other than that it’s a fairly fun fight and really feel like last boss.

Mini boss I passed in one run. Just pack up some CC and you won’t have many problem.

It’s clearly never going to be possible to make a fight that is just right for everyone. That’s what difficulty settings are for.

If it was open world or ranked competitive content then of course it would have to be the same for everyone but it’s not. This is the Personal Story. It’s set in an instance. There is no need for it to be one-size-fits-all. Just give it a selectable difficulty setting and let people enjoy it how they prefer.

MMOs don’t use difficulty settings nearly as much as they could. Or should.

Figured I would just ask this here… I am enjoying the difficulty of the last boss but I am not sure if I am encountering a bug or I am just kitten ing out…

When the boss “charges up” and you are suppose to “shield yourself or take to the sky” wtf am I suppose to do? I can’t find anywhere to jump off… I have redone this 3 times now with no success

There are updrafts all around the platform. Stand on them to fly.

it’s simply ridicoulous that you have to repeat FROM THE BEGINNING all the fights. Especially if you die because your glider doesn’t open, or the ground where the portal is COLLAPSES and you cant reach it anymore if not without restarting again hopin that will be fixed etc etc…it’s simply a boring and poor design, and if you encounter one bug you’re kittened and have to restart everything

Baseless claim ? Have you ever seen how much people are searching for group for the final mission because they can’t finish in solo ? Have you already discussed with those people about the difficulty of the boss ?

I had. And i can say you that most of the people (About 80%) are saying that’s too hard ! For the rest, they complain about the bugs with the invulnerable boss for example !
If you don’t believe in me, try by yourself, ask to your friend in game, and let’s see.

OK, my sentence is maybe closer to a hyperbole, this is maybe doable with many try and a lot of time of tryhard [Which is not the objectives in the game], but in less than 20min and with Thief, is this still doable ? Of course no … I like difficulties, when it’s because i miss of skill, but when I see that the more I die, the more the boss is powerful, the more my armour is broken, (I hope this is understandable) what solution do you have ?

Yeah, with others race than thief for instance.

I hope my effort will be worth, I hope that a Dev will read that and think about it, that’s all I want … Debate isn’t needed.

The fight wouldn’t be as hard if you didn’t die to bugs and cheap combos (like being knocked down before being able to get to the launch pads during the light phase) because Mordremoth will retain all his powers from whatever phase you were on previous to your dying to a bug.

I’ve gotten all the way to the end in a party and 4/5 of us died to the launch pads not launching us, 5th person got to the burn phase at the end couldn’t break Mordy’s break bar, suicided so we could restart. Mordy walks in with his break bar right at the beginning, we stun him to death before Marjory even shows up.
