Because that songs telling you don’t fear the reaper. Anet’s telling you that you should fear the reaper.

I have to admit that I shuddered uncomfortably when they mentioned Pyramid Head. That guy still scares me. If only my necro were capable of being that scary!

To CETheLucid: True, but I think they could have started with “Don’t Fear the Reaper,” then move on to a more contrasting song. You know, kind of like “You don’t need to fear me.” fallowed by, “Nevermind what I said. FEAR ME!”
To all: I’m sorry, but have no idea who Jason or Pyramid Head are, or what the cowbell is. Mind telling me?

I never knew anything about Silent Hill but there was a brilliant thread on the WoW forums where someone trying to knock loose writer’s block set up a Zork-like adventure “You Awaken in Razor Hill” and let the story go based on other thread posters’ input. There was a pyramid head in there that was horrifying.

I just hope they can give the Reaper that sense of inexorable doom they want, as opposed to people just kvetching about how annoying the chill is (see the Orr mobs that get so peskily in the way of just running to orichalcum, per some people). Or the stabby-cat Mordrem that can diaf.

Comparing this to Pyramid Head has me wondering, what’s the best hood/mask for a Reaper to get the same effect? Well, armor in total, but I think the headgear is going to be the most important part of it.

Rather like the pyramid head comparison. Although if they’re not dragging their massive greatswords on the ground it might not feel apt.

Imagine if they had the old joke class the minstrel playing that out in the middle of the field and suddenly the greatsword of the reaper shoves itself through his chest changes itself to a scythe and rips its way out of him.
