And if they gave no hints whatsoever people would complain about that as well.
In fact, plenty of people LIKE getting hints and speculated/discuss about them before the full reveal, especially if they are not ready to make the full reveal yet.

I’ve been calling for new information about HoT for the last month. I for one am OVERJOYED that we’re getting hints. I’m hoping that means certain things are locked in stone (shouts, traps) and that soon we’ll get some kind of reveal for one or more of them.
Seriously, be happy that we got something. They could have just said “Things are way different. Trust us.” and been done with it.
because traps are so useful on the classes that have access to them, really looking forward.
I am hoping it’s a step in the right direction. It’s better than info on frogs or recaps on PoI.
You probably won’t hear specifics until after the closed beta when they are more sure of the balance of the new elite specializations. You will probably be setting yourself up for disappointment if you expect that kind of detail before then.
If you’re annoyed by lacking this information, I strongly suggest you get a hobby. One that doesn’t involve obsessing over a video game. There is zero cause for a logical human being to be bothered by this. The only reason this upsets you is that you believe you deserve to know it now, a sentiment for which there is no justification.

Telling us about the system is foundational to moving on to tell us about each individual elite specialization. It’d make no sense to do it the other way around.
We’re one week closer to the point at which you find out how you can specialize your favorite character.

This exactly. I’m actually very pleased with the level of information the provided today and greatly anticipating the following weeks.

Lets olny hope that they will continue this. No more frogs plox.

It’s definitely not the Ranger, so I’m really hoping for the Thief. The idea of playing an ambushing sniper that lays traps around for people that get close is just beautiful.

If you think traps are useless on Ranger you’ve been doing it very, very wrong.

I never said they were useless. I just doubt the Druid is a trap specialization.

Thieves already have traps…if their specialization’s utilities were related to traps then they wouldn’t really be getting anything new…

I’m just thrilled to hear news about ANYTHING but Stronghold at this point because as a PvE only player, I was getting bored of the news being PvP centric for such a long time without much new PvE info being released.
Wake up, Tyria!

To be fair, last week was all about PvE. You got to read about the lore and some mechanics of the local PvE frogs.

Which was nice but sadly not crazy exciting and I sort of forgot about it after a few days.

That may be, you just weren’t interested. However it was exactly what you asked for in your post, so Anet did give it to you after Stronghold
They’ve now, in 4 weeks, given information for most of the masses. WvW stuff, PvP stuff, Lore stuff, and Character Mechanic stuff.
