So… could Thieves be getting Kits in HoT?

Makes sense, but still early to tell.

I can see kits working on a Thief. Then again, they could also work on Warriors. We’ll see.

This is actually a really unique and interesting idea i had never considered. I’m all for it, i’d play the hell out of a throwing dagger ‘kit’.

This could mean thief is still getting rifle as a kit!

That or rifle is the main weapon and the staff is a kit weapon

My money is on staff being the main weapon though because the specialization pic has the thief wielding it

Assuming that thieves would keep weapon swap if they got kits…

I am really missing the correlation between that pic and kits.

I don’t think this means thieves are getting kits. It doesn’t look like a kit.

But between this and the staff image, it looks like its all but confirmed that thieves are getting some sort of ninja-like class spec. Only, it won’t be called a ninja, because Anet is like that. And it won’t be called assassin, because that’s a GW1 class (same reason why Anet didn’t reuse “ritualist” and came up with “revenant”). Maybe it’ll be something like “Shadow Warrior”.

Personally, I still want my sniper rifle deadshot, but its hard to complain with ninjas. Ninjas are always cool.

No way Thieves will keep weaponswap if they get kits.

Kits was one of the things I thought would work with thief (and warrior). If we do get kits, I wonder if we will get an engi style F skill to go with it. When we got the F2 skill for steal my first thought was is this because of something the elite spec will get?

I have seen many changes to the professions lately, that hint at things that might have needed to change to fit with things in HoT. So maybe the F2 skill will change what the stolen item does, depending on what kit you have equipped?

I could see assassin as a thief spec, actually. The main thing that distinguished assassin from thief was really a greater use of magic – a magical weapon and suitable utilities would probably do the trick. I’d probably do it with a focus offhand rather than staff, though…

Kits on a weaponswapping profession seems like it would just be too good. Something more like elementalist conjures could work – the idea being that while the weapon is on cooldown, the thief is scrounging up replacement throwing knives (or whatever) for the next time it gets used.

Im very curious to see how kits will be implemented. Because its a utility that replaced you weapon skills they cant give 5 new kits as an elite spec as that adds waaayy too many new skills. Most likely the kit will be the new weapon type rather than actual new weap and then get additional utilities 6-10. The other only option is get an actual new weap and then only 1 kit since thats 10 new skills which every proff is getting.
