Could we please get some kind of Time Plan that shows us a bit more the road on what is ahead for GW2 in say for example the next 10-12 Patches .

Due to the Living Story having again a longer break and many players having nothing to do in the game, than to wait for HoT or to grind for Gold to work slow like snails on their goals, it would be nice to know, which things are in the pipeline, that should make the waiting on HoT meanwhile nicer for all of us.
Stuff, that we can mark with red crosses in our calendars to wait for ,rather than to wait only just on HoT, whichs release date insn’t clear at all and gets first decided after a beta phase of the expansion.

It would be awesome, if Colin could make for once again some kind of blogpost, where he tells us something about what will happen roughly (no promises, but just a rough plan on what will most likely happen)

Example:

10.02.2015 – Celebrate the Year of the Ram-Patch
- Dragon Bash returning, while Players will celebrate also the Year of the Ram.
For doing the Meta Achievement of this Year’s Dragon Bash, players will receive the Mystic Dragon Minipet

24.02.2015 – Feature Pack 3
- Reimplementation of Season 1/ Person Story Redesign (merge with Living Story, Zhaitan Battle Redesign)
- Class Balancing based on heavy Trait Focus/ Trait System Fix
- Implemention of Jeweler 500/ Chef 500
- Ascended Runes and Ascended Sigils for PvP Style-Upgrading also in WvW/PvE
- Toys, Tonics also for the Hero Panel, so that they don’t need to be Inventory Items anymore and can be used as account based thigns on all Characters

10.03.2015 – Boss Weeks/ WvW Special Tournament
-Redesign of the Shatterer and the Claw of Jormag with some new little Events in their Maps

24.03.2015 – Queens Pavillion Reopens

07.04.2015 – Return of Super Adventure Box with World 3
- Plus all previous Worlds including Hard Mode for all the Worlds

21.04.2015 – PvP Weeks – Playable Demo on PAX for HoT.
- Deep Dives about Revenant, Guild Halls and what players have to expect, if they don’t buy the expansion

05.05.2015 – Rebuilding Lions Arch Weeks Part 1
- Not a complete Rebuild, but making some big progress at least to see a bigger change, like removign all the huge wreck parts, atmossphere change, having more bridges fully repaired ect.

19.05.2015 – Bug Fix & Game Performance Patch
- For once a Patch, that solely focuses only on Bug Fixes, small QoL Improvements (Integration of Combat Mod/Sweet FX), Gemstore, Trading Post, LFG Tools and Game Performance Optimizations (64bit Client/DX11 Support)

02.06.2015 – Activity Weeks
- Strong Focus of Activities, plus adding permanently Polymock, Bar Brawls and Aspect Arena, plus fixing/improving some of the old Activities, like enabling to make organized Teams instead of this silly RNG trow People wild together stuff

16.06.2015 – Class Balance Patch with focus of merging Utility Skills and Traits as also improving Class Mechanics, to create space for something more useful, stuff that could and should shake up a bit the Metas

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

The problem is that people don’t know the difference between a plan and a promise.
And as such as soon as any of the plans change (even if we get told about it) the forums will explode about being lied to and so on and so forth.

The effect of that is hurting the game and ArenaNet way more than not telling us stuff until it is ready.

Is it Anets problem, when large parts of this community are just too immature to know that simple difference?

ANet did that kind of road map at the first year and a half and people had no problems with it.
This stuff about people taking it as promises started just only, when Anet decided to postpone stuff like precursor craftign, ndew legendaries ect.

now everyone should absolutely know, why the did it, because that was most likely the exact time point, when they started working on Hearts of Thorns, because they thought (or got told by NCSoft) that these features are better to be implemented later with the expansion.

Can’t people just finally grow up and stop making a cord around anets neck, only because a developer didn’t make something, like expected and changed their plans on something?
Thats normal. Not always can and will work everythign like planned.
But that also doesn’t mean, that a developer should stop completely with makign plans and telling the community, on what they are working.
Rough infos are more than enough. Nobody expects here full details that get described then with words that let the description sound, as if that “plan” would be done 100% for sure like described.

As if anyone of us would have never postponed somethign in their life, because of something else haven’t worked out, like planned, or you spontanously changed your mind on how you wanted to do something, because you made some changes to the plan that let the end result become better and for doing that, it takes more time, than with the old planned way.

I simply think, there must be a greyzone, where ANet can tell us more about their plans, without that players instantly freak out like immature childs, only because they changed somethign on the plan and don’t tell us directly, why in full details, because the 3rd instance here (NCSoft) forbids to let Anet tell more about those reasons or the devs beign self not ready yet to tell more, because of not everything being through their planning phases completely.

Maybe 10 patches naturally is now exaggerated, but at least a little road map for at least the next 2-3 patches would be awesome, just to have a rough idea about, what we can do in GW2, while we wait for HoT.

Shouldnt be wished too much.

ANet told us about their plans: no new LS before the expansion, playable demo at PAX and Rezzed in March, followed by a beta.

“There will be updates in between”, and we can expect the Ram-patch around Feb. 24 (logically speaking, since it’ll be the end of Point of No Return).

From deduction, we can say that we’re probably getting at least:
-Today-Feb. 24: HoT info
-Feb. 24: Ram-patch
-Feb. 24-Mar. 6: HoT info
-Mar. 6-14: first images of the expansion played by players
-Mar. 14-?: Beta
- ? : Release

Let’s not be greedy and wait. If they give too much in one go, people will QQ the content is buggy. Let’s wait… Hopefully not too much.
