With a new expansion just behind the horizon and Dragon Stand being a map with so many “access issues” theses days (limited time slots to get on the map, less people playing the meta, success needed to spawn Noxious Pods at camps), wouldn’t it be great to have a Noxious Pod at the home instance?
The would allow players to slowly gain Crystalline Ore every day, without running around DS searching for 3-4 Noxious Pods on a non-meta map.

A higher supply of Crystalline Ore would allow us to actually go for GH weapons (Chiaroscuro) and armour (Ornate) + HoT foods more often.
The variety of HoT map mats (Airship Oil, Auric Dust etc.) would also be acquired. without us having to go to every single map (while Oil & Sparks are easier to get outside the meta cycle anyway).

Our focus will shift even more when a new narrative and maps arrive, so making the life of HoT players easier with the Noxious Pod at home, would be a nice addition.

It would be convenient. As for great … not really since you can just run through a “dead” DS and open a bunch of pods.

Those guild weapons and armors are throttled by the timegating on guild commendations.

Pods appear only on finished events. And generally maps are divided in the succesful ones (hard to get into while they are running, impossible to get into after they’ve succeeded), and those that haven’t even started doing anything.
So, no, your suggestion doesn’t really work.

I’d love this. If nothing else, it’ll allow us to use our one “free” machete every 24 hours. I doubt DS will get much attention once HoT passes.

Actually he is right. Most dead maps will have 3-5 pods over their lifetime. Usually from the first events getting completed randomly.

How do I know? Because I’ve opened them often enough inbetween running alt characters to get the 30 easy hero points.

I’ve opened enough to craft Astralaria before the April patch.

Maps spawn with several pods. I haven’t kept track but someone on reddit who seems to have been doing it way before me claims 8. However some of those pods can be in very out of the way spots.

Maps do always have a couple pods scattered about, but can be difficult to get to. Also, it would be nice to have a pod home instance node for a combination of all the map currencies to purchase.

Sounds good to me. All the other HoT chests have a home version, so I don’t see why Noxious Pods need to be any different. Its not like one a day is going to break anything or kill off DS any more than it already is.

I’d love this. The biggest hurdle to getting C-ore is getting into Dragon Stand in the first place. I like the map, I do, but with the way it’s time-gated and everyone taxis into one map, it’s a huge chore to do enough times to get all the necessary ore.

I’d easily pay 50g for a daily chest.

And probably another 50g to open up a Dry Top PvP reward track, so I can get geodes and never go to that zone again.

Many alts; handle it!

Dry Top already has a reward track. It’s called the Maguuma Wastes Reward track and the track rewards you with 2,650 Pile of Silky Sand and 300 Geodes according to wiki.

I disagree with your comment “Pods only appear on finished events”. I’m in DS every day on several alts farming nodes and pods. When a DS meta isn’t running, there’s approximately 3 to 4 noxious pods per lane.

Yup. Not many, but there’s some there. While it’s much more profitable in C-ore to do the meta, it’s not completely blank otherwise.

Still, I’d like that Noxious Pod node!~

:( geodes have a reward track but bandit crests don’t. If only we could choose bandit crests out of the end chest of the SW reward tracks.

As for the home node, we can get one machete from the MoM achievement item daily, which would go really nicely with a home noxious pod…

Of course, then I couldn’t use it for Chak Acid, which means in about a month, I’d have to go to Tangled Depths again. . .;_;

Yep, my thought exactly.

Plus, people don’t get Bandit Keys for free, either (and not everyone plays PvP). Hence the argument to not add one just because the opening mechanism requires a key that can only be obtained on the corresponding map doesn’t really count. Also keep in mind that, even if a Reward Track for Machetes existed, you can get more within one hour of playing Dragon’s Stand than by spending hours filling a Reward Track.

This is how I treat my stock of keys for the other HoT maps. When I run low, I go to the map to do events to farm keys. The home nodes get me into the maps, rather than keeping me out of them.
Though, for Dragon Stand, if it weren’t so obnoxious to get into a meta map, maybe I’d go more often. It’s a fun enough map.
