I ordered the expansion from Amazon last week and entered my code. I am wondering when they award the extra character slot for pre-ordering the expansion?

It can be up to 10 days before you will receive your bonus character slot. It is thought, by many, that the character slots are disbursed every Friday.

If you already got a code, you “pre-purchased”. “Pre-ordering” means reserving a spot when the game comes out so you can be amongst the first to get it.

Terminology is important here because pre-ordering means you won’t be getting any of the bonus gifts while pre-purchase does.

In your case right now, post above me is correct.

is it possible to purchase HoT from Amazon now ? because from my understanding pre-purchase of HoT only comes from official GW2 website . I must be wrong then….

I’m guessing if the OP entered the ‘code’, meaning applied the Serial Key, he/she pre-purchased rather than pre-ordered.

Of course, I could be interpreting what he/she posted wrong….

Pre-ordering/Pre-purchasing, to me means the same thing ever since digital distribution became huge and I quit buying games in brick and mortar stores.

But yeah, I already got a code for HoT and applied it to my account, got Beta access as well, and the title. Only missing the extra character slot, in which I did not know what day of the week they awarded that.

For the US, there are 4 additional places someone can buy HoT from, and they are all authorized dealers. The only version that is not available outside of Guildwars2.com is the Ultimate Edition.

I thought the vet slot came out once a week on Fridays.
