I am trying for the life of me, to work out the reasoning behind the 24 hour time-gate on this item. Currently I am finding that locating raiding parties on euro servers (for both Auric and Dragon’s Stand), vary from floating assorted people to dead.
On occasions we do have raiding parties on both these maps but normally once or twice a day in appearance, which make me wonder where people are if megaserver is supposed to direct us to full maps.

Whatever the reason for these empty maps is another question, however it seems Verdant has the most activity and I join this map to level my mastery points, collecting airship parts along the way.
After amassing a healthy amount of airship parts and as a later lucky find of the Converter, I am bewildered to why the converter is on a timer and more so it’s really low converter amount per a 24 hour period.

If there is an issue of dead HoT maps or one in particular that seems to be more popular than others, would it not make sense to remove the 24 hour gate on the converter so people can get the currency from other maps in a decent time?

This is especially topical and sensible to lift this gating, when player numbers on other Magus falls map sections are often dead; thus preventing people from getting the required items for ascended weapon collections etc from the associated Magus Vendors. Converting 25 airship parts to Ley line crystals (as an example) seems a little on the stingy side for a 24 hour wait.
If there is a reasonable reason for this I can understand, but I cannot see anything exploitable about it. If a person grinds to get map currency and simply wants to exchange for another (especially due to poor population event coordination), they should be able to without a penalty.

I feel you, and in general agree with you. i think however that one reason can be hidden inside your last statement.
If i can play VB and gain tons of parts, and can convert them to AB or TD currency unrestricted, there is no real reason to play those other maps. that could lead to even faster dead zones.
Of course, there is fun, specific maps rewards, rare drops from map chests etc. etc. to play there. Besides, i havent really come across really empty zones. Most TD event chains can be done with 3 people, and when you get close to Meta Event it can be filled up fast with some taxi’s.

Hi Faab,
Yeah that is a good point. My biggest issue just now is that there seems to be very little party opportunities via LFG taxis to these maps, especially in Dragon Stand. I don’t know if its the current bugs on that map, the fact you need at least 15 people to be interested to start it. The fact that maybe the events are perhaps too hard and too time consuming for their own good? The fact Tangled is perhaps too confusing a map for people to navigate to even get there that’s putting people off?

I am just not sure and not meaning to veer this subject to another topic, but for sure gaining the currency needed in other maps is incredibly difficult .

But thanks for that insight, I will keep looking for taxis and hope I get lucky

In general I agree that the lack of population on generic maps is a hindrance for many things. Taxi’s are a player workaround to a megaserver problem, but on DS everyone just disperses after meta completion and you are on your own. Collecting Ley Line sparks in TD requires running past large groups of enemies, hoping they leave you alone just long enough to collect a stash.
It takes too long to defeat them all, as execially the Veterant can be quite resiliant.

On VB and AB it is much easier to collect them, and in VB you collect more crowbars then you can find chests. ever.

Yeah, opening this up to more transfers exacerbates the problem of dead maps, as was noted. I was kind of upset they fixed the opening of hero point chests in other maps awarded you that maps currency, but I think it’s fair, and serves the point that Anet wants people to play the maps themselves. The converter seems mostly fair. If you’re diligent about converting you can amass a fair amount of currency easily. Though the 25 → 10 conversion rate is pretty icky, given the daily limitation.
