I keep seeing over and over sarcastic posts saying things like “omg you actually have to play for your elite specialization” “the hero points aren’t hard to get” “Just play the game”

THAT ISN’T THE ISSUE!!!

Majority of us WANT to play the game. We really want to enjoy it a lot! We want to play it with our elite specizalation though. That isn’t asking for a lot.

We have to farm crazy xp for masteries (which I don’t mind at all) but I want to enjoy doing that on my herald.

After spending days to weeks to months based on play time we have to farm all the HP. (Which I don’t mind at all) but I want to enjoy doing them on my herald.

Then we unlock our elite specizalations. Oh wait I already explored all the maps, did all my masteries and guess what, all that’s really left is raids and fractals.

To unlock an elite specizalation there should be a profession trainer in LA that sends the players on a quest, where you learn about the profession, where it came from, add some lore and a couple tough fights. Not grind this, so you can grind this, to unlock this just to have all your content done already.

Now I’m stuck in wvw for a couple weeks just getting HP so I can actually enjoy the new content on the class I want to play with.

Anet……please do something about this.

I’d make a comment disagreeing with you, but it seems everytime I disagree with anyone my comments get removed, I guess having a differing opinion is bad and it’s easier to just censor anything we don’t like.

After seeing posts on these forums, as well as chatter in game, from my experience it seems that the grind to unlock elite specs is not being accepted. I think they’ll see a dramatic population drop in the next week or so when people get tired of grinding all day every day just to unlock the elite spec so they can replay all the content they’ve already done 50+ times.

GW2 is now one of the games where players say “I worked and grinded for days to get this thing, so now I can have fun”.

Your opinions are more then welcome. This is how I personally feel and many others I’ve spoken to today about it though. No its not possible to make everyone happy, but options should be given such as a spirit shard to HP conversion. Those who like the current system then are also happy as they can still do it that way.

Oh if i mention the culprit it will get removed. kitten it might anyway

Nothing wrong with disagreeing. Perhaps it is the way you chose to express it.

I had been in the “not a big deal” camp, but Sylent makes a good point here. By the time you fully unlock the elite, you will have played through a large portion of the expansion content. I can understand wanting to experience that content with your elite the first time.

In the end, it won’t stop me from enjoying my new Revenant, but I can see the point.
