like pvp player I’m starting to have tons of these Tomes, basically useless for me.

Can give us some way to convert X tomes in some masteries exp?

I’d really appreciate that.

Not asking for a super strong conversion but something can help pvp players to exp a little their masteries.

Dunno maybe only Core Tyria.

You can use them on a level 80 ….. they get converted into Spirit Shards.

They were purposely made to not give XP after level 80.

Tomes of Knowledge and how they might affect mastery tracks was a hot topic before HoT launched. The concern (and a valid one) was that people that had a crap ton of these would cheapen the mastery tracks by just tome’ing their way through them, and many (if not most) of us were very happy when Anet stated bluntly that tomes and writs would not be usable for mastery experience. I am hoping they stick to this decision, considering I’ve seen pvp players with rows upon rows on stacks of tomes in their bank vaults.

If you want to build your masteries, do what we do, come play pve. If we want the Ascension, we have to come pvp. Its good that there are some mode specific things that require you to actually stick you toe into something you’re not necessarily “comfy” with.

I can’t imagine that they’ll ever be used for masteries — the whole idea with those is to offer to PvE players specific challenges (and rewards) for exploring (and doing) just about everything that’s new.

Well, I remember the original discussion about Tomes to Masteries exp, but I think it could be balanced with how much exp 1 tome gives.

Maybe dunno 250 tomes just 1 mastery exp level.

Don’t forget you always require the hero points to complete all masteries (I’ve exped all masteries on my other main account) so you always require to do a lot pve to complete all masteries

It could be a way to not interrupt your mastery progression while you are doing spvp

In every case you require to do a lot of pve to complete them.

And maybe it could work only for Core Tyria Masteries. Not necessarily HoT masteries.

This was my initial intention for this topic.

masteries are a pve progression thing, it would be a terrible idea to remove the progression part of it via tomes which by the way are too easy to get.

perhaps a better idea would be for anet to come up with some interesting sinks for spirit shards which is what the tomes give if you are already level 80
