Tomorrow's PoI: What do you want to know about Pact Commander masteries?

I would like to know more about this auto-loot mastery, specifically.
Does auto-loot mastery mean you no longer have to ‘interact’ with any loot on the ground – it just automatically goes directly into your inventory if there’s room? because THAT would be awesome if so. No one likes to constantly interact with the ‘AOE Loot’ button while trying to focus on killing your enemies!
Also, with this auto-loot mastery feature, will this mean that you no longer have to worry about not being able to collect loot that is surrounding your dead (and downed) characters? I’ve missed out on so much loot simply because I died and there was no way to get back in time to collect said loot (see picture attached).

Will we be able to access all Masteries immediately or must we discover the Mursaat before we choose to learn their Lore? I guess similarly is Pact Commander only unlocked after completing Personal Story? (just how will we be introduced to them – by event or automatic?)
Also can you spoil which Legendaries will be available at launch? (weapon types)
Sorry to ask off topic questions but thought I’d grab the chance anyway. Hope the stream goes well.

According to IGN:
Continuing along this path will also unlock the ability to revive allies faster based on how many levels lower than you they are, and even two features all Guild Wars 2 fans have desperately been waiting for – auto-loot and speed boosts in cities.
Why is a quality of life feature like auto-loot being added to a mastery instead of simply added to the options menu where, imo, it belongs?
Masteries exist in that grey area where as a play I’m not sure if they are adding something to my gameplay or if they are inconveniences that are being added and then taken away after some grind . Take the ability to use a turret at Tequatl as an example – a similar encounter in HoT might have a similar mechanic but simply gate turret use using a mastery, but in Pact Tyria I can use the hylek turret without inconvenience of needing to grind for it. To some extent I’m fine with this, but auto-look really feels like it should be a core feature, not a mastery one.
Is there any chance features like auto-look can be kept in the menu, available to everyone, instead of blurring that line and bringing them into Masteries?

Just swinging by to say thanks to all of you for participating in this thread. Josh and I sat down together for about an hour this afternoon and went through the entire thread.
You brought up a number of points we already had in the PoI show notes, so we were happy to see that we were on the same page there, but you also gave us more things to discuss, clarify, and think about for tomorrow. My goal was to make tomorrow’s PoI more valuable and informative for the people watching it. Those of you who posted good, constructive stuff helped with that, so… thanks for pitching in. (Sorry, I’ve been spending a lot of time in the Silverwastes lately.)
I hope to do this with future episodes too, if you all find it useful.

Will newer players have some sort of on-screen notification that a Helper / Mentor is nearby?

In the event you continue to read this thread before making the POI I’d like to ask the most obvious question: Will these “central Tyria” masteries be core masteries, as in free for people who just own GW2 and not HoT?

Will Pact Commander work like this?
This Mastery is special compared to all other Masteries, as here you gain Experience and Progession for it only, by doing helpful things, like reviving Characters.
Other activities won’t let these Masteries progress.
1 MP: Paragon for the Community
Gain in Chat and over your head of your Character an Icon, which shows people, that you are a helpful person. You have now increased Reviving Speed in PvE of +1% for every Levels at the revived person is below your own Level. So a Level 1 Player would be practially revived 79% faster
1 MP: Town Guide
You have now increased Movement Speed in Towns of +25% additional to any movement speeds you have alsoready from Signets, boons ect. and you can Auto Loot now
2 MP Tactical Commands
Increases now for every Level that you are higher than your Party Members the Experience and Karma Rewards for successful Events in PvE by 1% So a Level 1 Party Member would gain with such a Commander in Team from Events now 79% more Exp and Karma from Events
5 MP Pact of Style
Grants you Access to a new Pact Commander Outfit
7 MP Strategetic Genius
Gain an Aura Effect, which buffs Characters in your Party their Stats by 1% for every Level that they are below you in Dungeons. So a Level 35 player would get 45% increased Stats when playing with you in a Dungeon
10 MP Source of Wisdom
By you revived Characters will receive for the next 1 Minute + 10 seconds for every Level that the Player was below you a Buff, that will increase Exp Gain from killed enemies and receive in that time a little Vitality Boost that is +20 for every 2 Levels below you.
So Pact Commander is a Mastery, that shows visually other people, that you are a helpful person, which revives alot fallen Pact Members and adds a reason to play as a party together with them especially with not yet Level maxed out Characters, as the reward for doing that would be, that they can speed up for those new players and veterans with new characters the process of becoming a bit quicker Level 80 to, especially in the early stage, when the Level Differences are the highest to make the Mastery Effects of this one here the most effective for new players and veterans with new characters, but these don’t need that help not really that much, cause a veteran has already plenty of level up scrolls.
But for a new player would be such Pact Commander Effects from this Mastery very nice.
Someone whos willing to do that Mastery must also know then, that the Symbol and Chat Visuality automatically come with this and wouldn’t be something, that you can deactivate. So once learned, you will always have them and that will surely lead to it, that alot more new players will talk and whisper with you to group up with you…
So in the end it is a Mastery, that really should be taken only by those players, that like to help others and not by those, that take it only for that symbol and the Map Chat difference to play being an attention peep, you know …

If its not too late
Do you get any titles for completing the mastery ranks?
“Pack Commander” would be a cool title.

Since auto loot coming can we have NPC that pickup unclaimed loot that left in the world ? Skritts in Lionarch could be good candidate.Maybe some fee for the pick up at NPC.Such as normal 10 Copper Rare 10 silver. Also give them container opening service so that we can aviod carpal tunnel.

Can I make progress by just helping random players in the open world as I happen upon them, or is it required to actively party with them or get them to add me to some kind of mentor list?

How is this new tag going to interact with Commander tags on the map? Hope it’s not going to be confusing for players.

Hey Rubi, just wanted to chime in hat I think you do a great job with the PoIs and that I appreciate you and the rest of ANet taking the time to make these.
As for Pact Commanders, this sounds potentially awesome, but also a pretty new concept for MMOs as well. I’ll be interested to see what the community does with this.

Does Auto loot mean I will not have to press F to loot and it just goes straight into my bag? and does this also function in WvW? (I’m praying for a Yes)
This is all I want to know.
In WvW lootbags already appear at your feet but you still have to press F to loot them. Would these directly go into your bag without having to press F constantly?

Is there going to be a penalty system for making bad decisions as pact commander, similar to other RPGs? I’d like to have my decisions to have a greater impact on the world, whether it be good or terribad, and I’d like to have lots of options to choose from depending on several factors (such as if I started this and that quest beforehand, etc.), but I think anet doesn’t have enough time and energy (and morale and motivation perhaps) for that kind of complex decision pathway system. It just feels like our characters are like mary sue characters where you can do no wrong. It’s like receiving a trophy for counting 1 to 10.

Auto-loot…I don’t get it. Is this a function that means you don’t have to press F to aoe auto-loot. Why is this a mastery?

What’s next, a mastery for a sort button for you bank tabs. Tell me there is more to it than that.

I swear. Since GW2’s launched every update you guys bring a whole lot of solid content, then you add something like a Mastery Track for QoL features to kitten it up.

Thanks one more time to all of you who posted good stuff for Josh and I to talk about today. I’m doing final prep for today’s PoI, and we’re currently in pre show over at the GW2 Twitch channel. See you there! (You can use the !timetoshow command in the Twitch chat to find out how long until the show begins.)

What is the purpose of the line? What benefits will it bring to us the player? Will there be a special way to advance it?

Will post in whatever thread Rubi is gonna create too, but for the Supply Line mastery level, can you please, please, please create a recipe for one of the merchants to let us craft a molten jetpack (preferably an account bound, I think). Still really disappointed this hasn’t been rereleased for both all the new player and those of us (like me) that were not lucky enough to be graced with it as a drop (no matter how many times we ran molten facility).
