Bring 7-9 people and Swiftness. Calling out target on the menders (CTRL+T) also helps for your party to quickly target the mob in the sea of trash.
Location of the spawns is random, so you either get lucky or you don’t. We went after Gilded Hollow and Lady Luck smiled on us by placing all new spawns around the center area. Although Gilded Hollow seems to be a bit more compact and less vertically oriented. :P
We are also a VERY small guild (3 active members), but we had 4 people from an allied guild join in. With the 7 of us we nuked every spawn with time to spare and the end boss was a joke.
Just bring (zerker) AoE and running shoes and hope luck is on your side with the spawns.

How can we, with our small numbers, make it to each spawn while maintaining the DPS to kill everything? Do any other guild leaders who run small guilds have an idea?
Try to get everyone up to updraft gliding mastery. It makes moving around way easier. Also, remember, that with 7-8 people going at it, you actually need only 4-5 to get to maws relatively fast. You can live with a few being slower and joining midway.
Next, remember, that there are several seconds after you kill a maw before next one pops. It’s time to get to the higher ground (for better visibility, and easier mobility).
So, the main points are:
1. get to know the layout (spawn points are not completely random, they are chosen from a set of fixed locations. Once you start to learn them, it will make getting to them easier).
2. Use Updrafts
3. Get to higher ground between fights
4. Move in groups (don’t attack maws solo, you are too likely to die before backup arrives)
5. Kill tenders asap (team burst them)
6. once shield is down, Icebows ftw.
We did it with 8 people (after several fails with 10 players) and had a time to spare on every maw.

I’ve done it a couple of times now with 5-player groups. It’s not that hard, however you might get screwed by RNG from time to time.
1.) First of all, make sure all players can use updrafts. Without that ability you will lose a lot of time traveling to/from the maws, splitting your group, etc.
2.) Bring decent damage and CC skills. The time limit can be quite a challenge sometimes, so you need to bring a decent amount of damage. Also make sure everybody knows how the defiance bar mechanic works, and there is enough CC skills to effectively break the bars on enemies.
3.) Pets, minions, clones, etc. can help staying alive quite well, since they provide additional targets for the enemies.
4.) Do not simply focus on the vine tenders. Some maws have heavy hitting enemies around, like Thrashers, Teragriffs, or Arrowheads. Those can really ruin your day. Focus them down before taking out the Vine Tenders.
5.) After defeating (or failing) a maw, orient yourself back to the center of the mal (around the marketplace area). IGNORE maws that are in the far north, north-east, or east. Because of the way the buildings are laid out, getting to those locations takes a LONG time, as does getting back. You can afford to ignore up to 3 or 4 maws, so don’t panic. Engaging the maw at the north-eastern ground-level position has proven to be very hard, and costs us usually 2 failures (not getting there in time, not getting back in time). It’s a bit random, but if lady luck smiles on you, sticking to the center, south, south-western, and western areas of the map provides the best chances to kill a maw in the time limit.
This is a suggested group setup similar to the ones I’ve been successfull with:
Tempest for damage (Fire/Air overloads for AoE, fire to burst down enemies), Chronomancer for support (Time Warp if you need that extra bit of damage when time runs out, Null Field to strip conditions, clones/phantasms to provide some damage and extra targets for the enemies, Shield 5 for very good break bar attack, etc.), Warrior or Burn Guardian for tanky burst/burn damage, Ranger for single target burst and pet. And whatever feels right for #5. This might not be an optimal group, but it worked very well for us so far.
