I was one of those who was battling for a “compromise” on elite hero point reduction. I haven’t often criticized anet but for a few things that I felt strongly about. It was good to see recognition in the article https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/heads-up-iteration-incoming/ that indicated there was room for us to expect a reduced elite unlock based on the betas and the fact that the hero system was released very late with no testing and certain expectations grew among many players that we would be able to access our elites much earlier than we ended up being able to.

After the update I logged on my necro that had full world complete and was able to attain my reaper in less than an hour, by looking at guides.

I consider this a good compromise, having not yet tested on toons with less than full old world complete, but I am glad Anet was willing to try and find a middle ground.

I have since been having a blast playing the new territories.

I don’t have an issue with the mastery system. I feel that that is a good compromise as well with those who wish for long term progression.

Just thought I’d take a couple minutes to acknowledge anet’s willingness to compromise between two very different views of what character progression is, with regards to this one “I feel” important aspect of the game.

Yes I agree, good on you ANet. Not sure if 250 is the right number, but 400 really was too much of a grind in my opinion (and apparently in the opinions of several others it seems).
The willingness for ANet to iterate, to try something and change it when needed is a wonderful trait to have.

Yes I was quite shocked when I logged in this morning, Hero Points reset and 250 points ready to be used.

You can’t say ArenaNet don’t listen to their players.

Now just make the map icons a bit clearer.

Jumping puzzles, love them or hate them, I hate them. Thread killer.

I still think that 400 was a good thing. Now my Chronomancer doesn’t feel special almost at all. I wanted to finally have something a bit rare when it comes to the profession itself. Something not everyone will have easily. Every person who made a mesmer as an alt for inventory storage or portals for some jumping puzzles will easily get things that I now have if he ever requires for a specific game content.

But oh well, many people whined about 400 HP, I’m guessing that I’m in the minority who doesn’t like this change and think that Anet shouldn’t cave in so much when people QQ on the forums…
