More like who didn’t notice that? It’s no secret that was written and promised. And going back and changing that now seems like a bad idea. If they end up being totally canceled then sure, but right now? No.
No, I am aware it was stated as part of the 50$ expansion, I mean it was a big factor in my purchase. More so that fact that it is still up on the website as something for HOT content, even though it has been indefinitely suspended……
Yes, it should be changed. In fact, if the company knew what it was doing, they would have had that changed just before the public announcement was made so that everything matched up. Of course, even if they’d done this properly, it wouldn’t change the far more serious problem of thinking it’s okay to take peoples’ money for something and then never deliver.
MMOers are the only people I know that will blithely pay for unfinished products and products that they will never get.
It can actually stay as is until they straight up confirm that legendaries are cancelled forever. As is, they could take a year off and that statement will still be true. Besides, if they did remove it, people would just whine even harder.
Mo should have never bothered to say anything and instead simply pushed back this next set for several more months to buy time. Nothing’s stopping them from copy/pasting either.

If i wanted to wait in the time frame of years for a return on my purchase, i would have played the stock market.

They wouldn’t have any more integrity by changing the text; they still aren’t going to be able to deliver on what people read about earlier.
However, it’s a typical example of ANet mismanaging their message (not the first time they’ve done this, won’t be the last). They do an AMA (good), but then fail to post their own summary about it in their own forums. They change the timeline on delivery of features and forget to update their own website. Heck, they haven’t updated the main site’s /professions article for the core game to mention that a 9th prof is available for HoT owners.
So I agree with the OP that ANet should have noticed this (without our help) and that they should change it. I just think they have plenty of other stuff to work on, without addressing what amounts to a typo, but with roots in deeper issues.

Same with me but I still want them to add legy weps to the game, I might even like one and try to grind for it. If I won’t like any, I can still laugh at guildies grinding elder logs like crazy in orr.

While it is kind of bad from an ethical standpoint, I’m personally glad that they’ve stopped devoting resources to it. I’d rather have more things that I can do than just incentives to do things that I could already do if I felt like it.

ANet going back on promises and content the game was sold on in the first place?
In other news, the sky is blue, water is wet, and ANet not only already did this with the base game, but the majority of the features the expansion launched with were things the base game was supposed to have added it before an expansion was ever even mentioned.
