Upcoming Closed Beta Events
If the web-page that was taken down is any indication, I think it will be bigger than the ‘demo’ that was offered before, because that Blog post stated the Beta would be somewhere around 48 – 60 hours long.
Of course, perhaps it was taken down because it was several months early, as the only two months with a weekend including the dates 15th through the 17th are May and August. /shrug
It makes more sense to be this month since in August 15th-17th is Saturday – Monday but who knows? On the other hand I feel like if it was this weekend we would have heard about it by now…
Aye, I am guessing the event is this upcoming weekend.
Which would make sense since they said last weekend was the last weekend to get the portal.

There has been some talk about the portal stopping dropping over the weekend, and Tuesday is traditionally hotfix/patch day so I guess they may announce something when they have the numbers of people they were looking for and remove the portal from loot tables.

I do hope it’s this weekend. I’m on call for the following weekend to fly out to Texas if my parents need me to help them with a long drive, which will depend on my father’s medical condition at that time. On that trip I’d barely be able to access forums for reading and certainly couldn’t log in to any games.
I don’t think the next closed beta would include “all” specializations, though. There’s no NDA, so the cat would be well out of the bag on the remaining six. I wish I’d seen that news blog myself because right now even the 15th-17th part is hearsay.
Well since all the core lines are also called specializations, maybe it’s just the core and none of the elites that will be available (sorry engineers).

My guess is there will be no specializations at all if it’s this weekend. Based on the info they gave a few weeks ago — including the fact the engineer was only a Power Point presentation — and the fact that most of the chronomancer utilities didn’t even have names, I doubt they’re far enough along to present any specs. Probably it will be the first map using the standard eight professions with maybe the scaled-down revenant from the stress test.
This weekend is a National Holiday in Canada when we all depart the cities enmasse. If it is this upcoming weekend of May 15-17th I hope they allow us to gift our portals to friends.
Now that they have a pre-order open on login has anyone heard any dates of when the pre-purchased Heart of Thorns players gain access to each Beta weekend event. and what time there on and what time zone as i am in australia not usa and ive just purchased the pre order
No beta events are currently announced as pending.
I bet they will wait a bit (to rack up on sales) and then announce that all future betas will be open ones. It would be consistent with their behaviour so far.
