Don’t get me wrong, i think this shiro legend is awesome probably my favortie so far, but does this mean they will start releasing elite specs again, or will we have another long fuggin break.

Its been a month since the last elite spec, but it feels like it was this long….

Honestly I can see them not showing them for a couple more weeks. Maybe they’re really not ready to show.

I’m with you though I really really really wanna see warrior/thief/engineer they will decide what I main. Warrior being some random awesome thing, thief possibly getting a melee staff which is my dream for gw2(a melee staff that’s not support), and a steam-punk style warrior thing. Can’t wait to see

Long ago I said Halloween, half-kidding…now I’m positive HoT will not be out before the Mad King arrives.

Well we know Ranger even if its not revealed. So that leaves what four more? That’s a month at least right?

And once again: Elite Specs is not the only thing coming with the expansion.

Not everyone will be taking Revenant as their main, there’s 8 other classes in the game, 4 elites revealed, time to reveal the rest already, why leave players of the other 4 just hanging for so long? The rest of the expansion stuff can be revealed anytime after since it’s information for everyone.

Guardian elite = Longbow Dragonhunter
Ranger elite = Staff Druid
Mesmer elite = Shield Chronomancer
Necromancer elite = Greatsword Reaper

Elementalist elite = Tempest?
Engineer elite = hammer?
Warrior elite = ?
Thief elite = ?
Revenant elite = ?

At the rate we are drip-fed info, and the amount of info to go, much of which is probably not ready anyway, and not including the elite discussion I don’t believe the expansion will be out until early 2016. Makes me wish that I’d not pre-purchased and spent the money on another game’s expansion. C’est la vie.

Well the more they stretch it out… the more unlikely it is to arrive anytime soon… Well it seems the new PvP has been beta-tested, probably see 1 more probably not 2. The PvE has only been stretched test, so that means at least 1 beta, but I’d say realistically minimum 2. The WvW has been stressed test, so beta is still left. I didn’t hear too much complaining so, if we’re lucky and nothing appears in the beta maybe only the pre-purchase beta and then a open beta. Well also probably see a Revenant/Shiro beta.
So I’d say we should probably not judge HoTs release date by how much info is left, and rather by how many betas still need to be done. After all ANet did say that the betas will determine release.

Ele will be tempest, they more or less accidental revealed that in a stream think it was the 4h stream that showcased all the changed to the existing classes prior to the new trait system we have now, but might be a different one not 100% sure). Still need a blog post on it ofc though, as do we need a ranger blog post, we only know it will be called druid and it will have a staff, we have no idea how that staff will work, nor what utilities druids gonna get or what kind of traits, so it is only 3 that been really revealed that way

This is pretty much common knowledge. We saw a dragon shaped invocation by Rytlock in the trailer.

I’m real eager for the reveals, not so much for hype as for practicality. A lot of my characters got exploded by the specializations patch, and I don’t want to rebuild them (and make new equipment for them) only to later find that they’ll be better off remade into an elite spec and then have to spend the resources on a bunch more exotic sets, again.

Are you trolling? People obviously want to know these specs so they can sort out gear/builds/theory and have some fun, yet you spam this rubbish in every single thread.

Chronomancer = Mesmer E Spec (Shield)
Druid = Ranger E Spec (Staff)
Silly Name = Guardian E Spec (Longbow) – hopefully renamed later to Seeker/Inquisitor
Reaper = Necromancer E Spec (Greatsword)
Silly Name 2 = Elementalist E Spec (Warhorn) – hopefully renamed later to Summoner
Forger* = Engineer E Spec (Hammer)
Berserker* = Warrior E Spec (guess Staff)
“Ascetic” = Thief E Spec (Staff) – guessed name
“Warden” = Revenant E Spec (Shield) – guessed name

I clearly believe, that it is so far obvious, that there is no selfmade rule here, that every profession will get a different weapon, when it has been already data minded, that the Rev E Spec will most likely get a Glint designed Crystal Shield together with Glint being their E Spec Legendary Stance, while Thieves will most likely receive the Staff too, based on the data minded concept art for the teasers and with Forger and Berserker beign dataminded placeholders, those names are also already clear and when you think on Berserker, from the weapons that a Warrior can’t use yet, the Staff makes only the most sense for a brutish DPS Staff combat, while the Thief will fight with it also with DPS, but absolutely not brutish like a warrior, far alot more martial artistical, uncludign also some control elements like stuns ect. and being as Ascetic more a passive DPS playstyle, that works woith counterattacks instead like a Berserker with powerful direct attacks.
However, I hope that once Anet releases new weapon types, that Berserker gets his Staff then replaced later with a Greataxe or Halberd Polearm Weapon or so, as that would make more sense, while the Staff Gameplay gets then moved over to the next Warrior E-Spec, that should have then the name “Gladiator” or “Marauder”…, dotn know, just an other more fitting name.

PS. with all professions getting more E Specs in the future, theres also absolutely no sense behind for pushing for it, that every Class needs to get now a different weapon…

Tempest is a good name. Please do not link it to the abomination that is Dragonhunter.

Nope, I am just pointing out that Elite Specialization is just a single part of the Expansion and there is plenty of other stuff that also needs to be talked about.

Just like you only care about Specializations there are others who just care about something else coming. Why should the thing you want be more important than what others want?

It is not, its technically on the same ridiculous level of DH, how a small kid would name something…a name, that would suit like some kind of marvel comic super hero, but not a class for a MMORPG, that clearly summons storms and other supernatural nature powers most likely with a warhorn later.

When I think on Tempest, this automatically comes to my mind…

Tempest is also when looking to other languages just a total abomination of a name, that doesn’t have working synonyms in all languages, as in German there exist absolutely no word, that would suit to Tempest in regard of it being a noun, that works as a profession description, because tempest is nothing else for us than a weather effect in German (Sturm > English Storm).
We would have to call it practically “Sturmrufer”, to have something, that makes anyhow sense, but in English this would be then again practically “Storm Caller”, or Storm Summoner, which pretty much sums it down, that the best allround solution would be to call the class simply Summoner, as it’s a name, that ANet already once had as a concept class for GW1 …

Ehmm summoner? that is certainly more lame than tempest, and would make ppl think of minion summons etc (so more something that would suit a necro elite spec). While you have a good point in translations everything else is pretty far off, by your logic druid is then just as bad, that is a pretty normal name a 6 year old could make up as well… and reaper would be pretty close on there as well
