Hi guys, I already have gw2 and I want to buy the expansion, but the only option is buying the original game along with expansion for at least 50$ and up, so I wondered, can’t I buy just the expansion for lower price ? why would I need core game if I already have it ? ..

The expac is $50. Those without the core game get it for free on top

The cost of the expansion is $50, with or without the core game included. You can use your key to either upgrade an existing account, or create a new account.

There are many threads about this issue, including an ‘official’ one with Dev responses.
