Hi I’ve noticed there’s random chests spread throughout the HoT maps, do they exist on Verdant Brink, and if so where are they located? I’ve searched google for a guide \ map but I can’t find anything, not even for Auric Basin or Tangled Depths where I know the chests exist.
The reason I’m asking is because they give a really nice amount of Airship Parts \ Ley-line Crystals etc, and I like to park my alts at them and log in once a day to collect my ez currency.

I’m talking about the non achievement related chests, they’re just called " chest " when you scroll over them, for example there’s one above the East watch waypoint in auric basin. the strongboxes don’t seem to ever give any good amount of currency, just 1-3 per.

Yay thank you, wish there was VB ones, needing 1000 for 1 ascended backpack piece is a killer

VB is the easiest map to get map currency in, by far. Maybe that’s because it’s the map I use(d) to explore for each profession elite weapon, maybe because you get a ton of crowbars from map participation and can then use those on the scads of cargo that drop which offer loot and currency (also if you have Nuhoch hunting, doing events gets you loot off mobs that includes the Nuhoch bags of map-specific currency). In any case I routinely have thousands of airship parts even after buying all the bits I needed for each of 8 elite weapons.

For parking an alt, though, and not actually playing the map to gain the currency? Yeah, I don’t think VB is designed for that.

I usually play during US nights\early mornings, midnight- 10 am. it’s hard for me to find active maps at those times, let alone ones trying to progress the maps meta. :S

Eh, I’ve only gotten two T4’s in VB thus far. The event chains can be done with a handful of people — not all of them simultaneously, but two or three people can for example push the Faren chain all the way to the wyvern. Nighttime events are even easier, as they aren’t chains. Pick a camp to defend, escort soldiers, keep up your participation, check in Map for which boss folks are fighting and you will get the crowbars and the currency.

Of the four maps, VB is the easiest to join at any point of the cycle, no matter how empty the map, and make some personal progress.
