I have almost 99% map complete in VB and I don’t remember this one. Where is this? Don’t get me wrong, I am the king of jumping into a map ‘trap’ that you have to way point out of. I really wish they would test those spots better.
You must be doing the one in the canopy. Yeah, that bit was annoying. I almost swapped to my Mesmer for that.
It’s the Canopy over Pact Encampment mastery point. The jumping puzzle allows (or at least should allow) players to exit the giant floating construction and use updraft to return to the start of the jumping puzzle however many of these “exits” don’t actually allow players to exit which result in being completely stuck in one of those pockets. Considering the JP is accessible only until daybreak its extremely annoying.
Yeah this jumping puzzle wasn’t great. It’s more of a fight against mechanics than anything else. Don’t get me started on those strafe-jumps around pillars, or the one where you have to hit max jump height at the right moment to not slip down. Fortunately I didn’t get stuck in any terrain when falling.
You can access it during the day but it’s a pain to do.
I finally did it today with my Mesmer after failing several times with my necro. The most annoying thing to me was when i wanted to do a simple NORMAL jump but no, my wings opened up and made me miss the landing spot because of a sudden change in direction. è_é

Oh? How?

This is the one near the wyvern, right, not the one with the diving goggles but the other one, with the bouncing mushroom? Been trying to figure that one out without success so far. I assumed I had to work my way up the spiral vine and jump around the walls, but every time I did I’d fall. That is if I was doing it correctly in the first place.

Updrafts. I can’t remember where but it’s on the west side of the map.

It’s the one where you have to jump inside and work your way up. There’s a mushroom pad on the platform you land on after taking the chopper. You can also glide over to it as well.
I finally found my way inside yesterday and tried to get up to the top but I kept over-jumping in one spot and having to restart. Since my main goal at the time was map completion, I gave up after five tries or so and went to get the poi’s I needed.
Still, it was nice to see that there is a way in and up.

You can actually access most of the canopy during the day, to get into the canopy theirs a method going up from shrouded ruins WP, that takes you onto an island with a mushroom that takes you directly to the JP start.
It was probably the most claustrophobic JP ive done so far xD
I’d like to check this out but I have no idea where it is.

oh its inside, not outside? That might explain my issues, I was trying to work my way around the outside on a spiraling vine that was very hard to get around some corners.
just to be sure: you take the copter from the pact encampment with the three officers who vote for who will command; you end up on a platform where you can glide to fight the mordrem wyvern; facing that platform with the wyvern, the jp mastery is the one on the left, with the bouncing mushroom you can take to get to the mastery thats to the right instead, but you want to get in to the LEFT one and not take the bouncing mushroom, correct?

It’s in the northeast area of the canopy. On the map it’s in a circular thing, which in game is a vertical crashed ship, sort of an egg standing on its tip with a big vine wrapped around its middle. There is a grey mastery point icon in it. You can glide to it from canopy islands and there is one nearby one with a bouncing mushroom that tosses you to an opening to the interior of the egg with a narrow beam acting as a ramp up to start the JP.

Then entrance is on the north side I believe. It’ll be whichever direction you take to glide to it from the platform you land on after taking the chopper. There will be a beam that at the beginning which you walk up to start the JP.

hm, that doesnt sound like what I recall… I may be thinking of somewhere else…. which chopper do you need to take?
I found it an completed it. Wasn’t that bad. You can glide in from the diving goggles updraft and skip part of the beginning.
It is annoying yes. I needed several tries.
To get there in daytime, go to Shrouded Ruins way point. Then track around to Dust Dancer plateau. There is a bouncing mushroom. go up. Climb the red rock to the vine. Continue up the vine to the area where the young Wyverns are.
Incidentally.. there is a juvenile Wyvern here, I believe.
Take the left fork as you look uphill. Another bouncing mushroom will land you at the starting point for the JP. Push forward a bit during the jump, otherwise you may miss and fall.
There’s an alternate route for many destinations in the canopy (for daytime travel) via Mellagan’s Valor. Climb the airship wreckage and take the updrafts.

Know where the tameable Wyvern are? There’s a mushroom to jump to the begining. The Wyvern are accessible from the se point by running to where the Doc meta-event starts and using that mushroom and get onto the vine leading to the wyvern. TP blocked – you can updraft from where you entered the map there – long way though, especially if you get stuck in a pocket. Mesmer portal ftw.
thanks for the advice. I’ll try em when I get home.
Is this a JP without chest?
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

I can port people there, if needed, ill get my mesmer up there tonight and figure something out
