Verdant brink feels empty since raids
Nah VB isn’t empty…. take a look just past Jaka WP and you will every man and their dog (eerm angry chest).
Just that with sooo many their not enough people can get into to do a successful VB meta now unless your lucky to find a map doing it on the LFG.
I really do believe that their is some real disconnect between the people that develop the game and the people that play it nowadays.. this kind of basic flaw is just .. well its just one thing after another nowadays.
The other maps are even worse now.. and they really do begin to require a larger population contribution.
Add to the fact that GW2 has imo one of the worst map join mechanics in MMO space and an LFG tool that offers almost zero control of your group make up and is more useful for advertising portals, home instance farming, Guild Recruitment and Item sales than it ever has been for grouping up.. and not even updated to include the new raid before it went live.
TBH HoT for me is starting to be a real dissapointment

It even worse in off-hours.
I can’t do skill points.
Yeah, they really should have thought ahead on this one and made a dedicated lobby map. Typical arenanet design oversight.

yeah, doing the map now for 1,5 hours. The map security level did not get higher then 0.5. I just want map completion
This is a problem with all maps in GW2, and the HoT maps will be no different. Many people have requested that the difficulty should scale from soloable to multiple people but there are too many who hated the idea of HoT content being soloable.
The raids merely gave us a quick taster of what the future will be.

This is the first week of raids. Eventually people will go back to doing meta events.
But I do agree that the raid should have a separate waiting map..
Like Fractals and PvP, Raids should have a lobby or staging area. There were literally dozens of people hovering around the entrance on the map, not contributing to it.
The reason it feels empty is because there are a ton of pugs standing outside the raidinstance sending messages in the chat about lfg. So half of the map is doing that, whilst the other half is trying to get the events going, which actaully was something i gave up on two of the maps today. Entrance have to be removed and placed on a map were you dont need all the people to be there to push the map forward.

They will release new wings every so often, this was already said, so the issue will not go away.
I just hope raids do not kill guild wars 2, I miss WvW as unique feature of guild wars. PvE is nice now, but raids… ruin… ALL…
Raids are not bad themselves but make the other parts of the game worse it is not worth it.
I logged into a map doing the VB event today, and we got T4. I even got the coat box.
Though, that was probably just a fluke.

Issue coming back later does not mean the issue will not go away. You get periods of reprieve.
I was going to start a thread about this today, but I want to add my voice to the suggestions of giving raids their own waiting area. Having a good chunk of the population on the map cycling through to do the raid has made it much harder to push the meta on VB.
Hopefully they’ll fix the megaserver issue. Just last night we found about a dozen TD servers if I heard people correctly. We were trying to spawn a new map and found roughly that many. With meta events that require a map at capacity, or close to it, it’s no wonder why we’re forced to use the LFG to grab people.
With raids, we now likely have even more instances of the map open so it appears that there’s less players than there really is. If raids had their own lobby, this may resolve some of the issue. I can even imagine what will happen when the next batch of raids is released and especially since I’m guessing one of the entrances will be in SE tangled depths.

VB is full of players.
Box o’ Funs, trash talk and emote-spamming while waiting for raids are the new and exciting VB meta.
