Hey i thought a good idea for warrior specialization was not to give us new wepons. Instead let us dual wield 2handed wepons.(with scaled down dmg ofcourse for balance)

You’d also have to scale down the stats…

And do all new animations…

And new weapons skills…

Not to mention that it would make the game look even more ridiculous than it already is.

Try picturing someone with two Twilights. Or two Juggernauts. And what about Longbows and Rifles, which are literally physically impossible to be dual wielded without giving Warriors a pair of extra arms.

No, we need to go further than just dual wielding them. Warriors need to be able to wield four greatswords at the same time. They will have to wear jetpacks to move though, because they will be using both of their arms and both of their legs to wield the weapons.

Predator fires bolts of plasma from a endless core, so it could be dual wielded.

Also how about warriors being able to wield a 2-hand and offhand, like Greatsword/dagger, Hammer/shield, Greatsword/sword, and so on. It wouldn’t be as crazy as two 2-hand weapons, but could provide some interesting weapon combos.

Hi Deni,

Taking aside all the comments in here (Some of them really fun) I dont think that this is a viable option.

Aside of making new animations and lowering stats on each weapon, this also would be unfair for other classes since warrior would have to dual wield Greatswords and Hammers (Not rifles or bows as some ppl comment in here), giving to them 4 new “weapon sets” One dual GS, another Dual hammer, GS/Hammer or Hammer/GS.

One player mentioned something that I´m partially on his side. Imagine a party with 4 warriors and 1 mesmer/guardian/any other class (I´m going to give you the worse scenario possible) with the 4 warriors swinging around 8 Legendary twohanded greatsowrds weapons… You would not be able to check the floor for random hostile AoE attacks due the animations.

Also, even if it sounds kinda fun the chance to dual them, it would be just like Titan’s grip from WoW, and that (For me) would be like “meh”…

Some posts in here mention that they will be granted the use of daggers or pistols, which for me is kinda fine, and I actually like the idea of a knife warrior commando situation more than pistols.

Hope this answer would have been of some help for you.

Could do like WoW and make dual wielding 2h weapons a skill/trait/mastery which gives a flat 10% damage reduction (or whatever levels the playing field out) so warriors wouldn’t have a specific advantage due to stat sticks (aka titan’s grip in WoW).

If this happens can my ele quadruple wield daggers? Or dual swords and dual daggers at the same time? Or something. I mean harnessing the power of the elements to wreak havoc is fun and all, but if we could do it with 4 arms, then it would be so much better.

I still don’t see why people expend effort like this just to hate on people…I believe it was said “Just because WoW did it doesn’t put it off the table”.

I’d say the possibility to dual wield 2-handed weapons, even if only temporary as a sort of Adrenaline fueled mechanic, is possible if only because we don’t know anything about what the Warrior’s specialization will be like.

I apologize, I did not mean to sound hateful. I just am personally very against the idea of dual wielding 2 handed weapons, for more reasons than simply it is reminiscent of WoW warriors. I’ts honestly not a very original idea, and the people who want it are really just nostalgic about WoW. Not to mention that it would be stupid overpowered; imagine having both 100 blades and hammer #4 & #5 at the same time.

Well, you could make it not overpowered if you use mechanics to balance it. Like link it to adrenaline and allow you to temporarily dual wield them.

My main argument against dual wielding two-handed weapons is that it would look rediculous (yes, I also hate various outfits and the unicorn shooting legendary but there’s no need to make it even worse by adding this on top).

How would that even work? Are you suggesting they add another weapon slot just for some kind of burst skill that temporarily equips 2 two handed weapons? Or are you saying that you wouldn’t even be able to use any of your weapon skills except the auto-attack until you build up enough adrenaline? If that is the case, how is that any different than a warrior in WoW? Except that it would make a warrior in GW2 stupidly under powered.

Well that’s the thing. You can think up a variety of ideas to make it work, even make it cool and unique from WoW. It’s all speculation and brainstorming. I wouldn’t know how to differentiate it from wow tho, since I never played wow. . .

Dual-wielding 2H weapons is not a good idea, especially as that would look ridiculous and secondly, as no one knows how that would work properly without being ompletely off the hook.

My bet is that it’s going to be summons. Warleader, Commander, something like that. The weapon could be any of the three non-magic ones they don’t have, shortbow, pistol or dagger, although I’m thinking pistol or dagger. I don’t think the devs are going to start giving the warriors magic this far into things, or ever will.

A 1 handed bow? The closest you get is a small crossbow but you still need 2 hands to arm it. Besides, we have two sizes of bows; longbows and shortbows.

If you used that line of thinking to argue in favor of a two-handed axe such as a pollaxe or a greataxe then you might have been on to something.
