Warrior specialisation ?
It will be a scepter, used as a pimp cane. Every third skill in the 1-chain will make the Warrior shout something derogatory and smash his foe’s kneecaps.
My guess would be shortbow, only weapon warrior doesnt have that would still fit the warrior theme, of no “magic” based weapons
staff isnt magic based weapon inreal if u see any kungkittenmovies or any old movies XD all of them use staff :P its jsut a melee weapon with no magic at all . tbh staff without having magic effect makes more sence
I think the front runners are pistol main/OH (I think OH) or torch.
Hoping for torch.

Except for every staff in the game so far being designed around them being for casting.
Physical weapons that make sense for warrior are: dagger, torch, shortbow.
If rev gets staff in HoT I expect it to be guardian like.

The Rev staff that was datamined was martial, going by the vague descriptions and the nature of the skill effects.
Now, it’s also NOT a valid argument that “x weapon has been used as y, therefore it will be used as y, not z.” Anet has demonstrated that they are more than willing to bend the norm on weapons.
Hammers were melee weapons for their professions until the Revenant was revealed with a ranged Hammer. Greatsword is traditionally a melee heavy hitter, but the Mesmer uses it as a ranged energy focus. Necromancers and Rangers both use axes as ranged weapons, despite them being traditionally melee. The Guardian’s shield could be replaced by anything – it’s used as a caster focus for support rather than a shield, while their focus actually functions in part how a magical shield might be expected to.
With all of this in mind, it is not at all out of the question for a staff to be introduced as a martial weapon. It has precedent in both real life and fantasy settings. Even famous wizards (like Gandalf) are portrayed as using the staff as a melee weapon in addition to the magical focus of Tolkien popularity. Martial staves are popularly demanded by the community, and unlike, say, a Greataxe, it wouldn’t require a complete set of new skins to implement.
Thus the only significant barrier to entry to the martial staff is the need to find a profession that works with it. Enter the Kensai-esque Revenant – a perfect candidate. And we already have ideal candidates in the form of the Warrior and, even more strongly, the Thief.
Funny. All the staves in the real world are melee weapons .
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

My current guess is off-hand pistol or off-hand dagger. Though I think off-hand pistol is somewhat more likely.

AK-47 confirmed.
Maybe off-hand pistol.
Ik people will be mad, but that fits Rytlock perfectly XD.
Rytlock had been using sword/pistol forever as a warrior, so it’s finally time for us to get that combination too
(edited by Aomine.5012)
Sword pistol is so boring…. I want warrior with staff.
Yeah, I think Pistol, I’ve always wondered how Warrior Rytlock was using sword pistol
because hidden pistol is charr racial ability so it’s easy to assume rytlock got to learn pistols during his standard charr training
I think it will be Bruiser or Brawler, and it will have daggers that are not flashy at all – just tons of fast shanking like a prison inmate.
Resident Thief
Easy.
Warrior specialization will have abilities with no weapon equipped. And when they only carry a main or off-hand with nothing else equipped, they will then wield that one weapon with both and gain even more skills!!!
From what we know / speculate thus far, there haven’t been any weapon duplications. Since Ranger is getting the staff as it’s first specialization, I don’t think the warrior will. Of course, I could be wrong.
Of the current weapons warrior cannot wield, my bets are on dagger, torch, or shortbow (in that order).
Im calling out pistol OH cuz Rytlock
Wat r u, casul?
Someone called torch → Raider.
I would like pistol in main hand, as medium range weapon with strong single target AA, and utility with baisicly no dmg on 2-3 (smoke with single stack of blind + timed bullet destroying and weakness + cripple)…

I would love that
Here’s my idea for warrior
Warrior Specialization [Brawler]
New mechanic, [Rage]:
Gain rage from a % of damage dealt. Unleash rage to deal 25% more damage for 4 seconds when meter is full. Movement speed is increased by 25% when raging and you cannot be the victim of snares or immobilizers.
New Weapon, [Dagger Mh]
Skill 1 [Slice and Dice][Auto-attack CD] : Slice at your foe dealing moderate/low damage/Stab at your foe and gain quickness for 1 second
Skill 2: [Snap out of it][Cooldown 25 seconds] : Jab your own hand inflicting self bleeding to break out of stuns and movement impairing effects while gaining 66% of your rage meter and 2 stacks of stability
Skill 3: [Cheap Shot][Cooldown 8 seconds]: Punch your foe with your fist dealing more damage if the target is above 90% health and gain might
Elaboration:
Skill 1 – in full zerker gear would deal around 800 damage per slice as crits BUT you would have permanent quickness autoattacking
Skill 2 – Nifty stun breaker that adds a powerful self bleed for balancing (2500 damage over 4 seconds or so)
Skill 3 – A fight starter that would be moderately telegraphed and high priority for avoiding, dealing 5k in pvp from one zerker to another.
A fun combo would be offhand mace/shield
Tremor – Cheapshot
Shield Bash – Cheap Shot

More interestingly – what will be the specialization for Revenant? :P did you even think about it?

Does the new profession even need one yet, as it is getting the benefit of designers see what has and hasn’t worked and the additional development time, I can’t think of any profession that would have been the state it is now if it had been delayed to be part of the expansion as opposed to (for some) being rushed to make it for the initial launch.
Today I woke up, opened my eyes and my first thought was: We’re getting throwing daggers. #shaftedonceagain #kittenesports #rerollrevenant

Of course he doesn’t need it, but you know.. they said that every profession will get a new specialization
No new weapon for warrior. Instead a third weapon set with reduced power/conditions/buffs.
Dual Warhorns.
Staff as a melee weapon, with spear skins would be awesome.
the hobosack on making more important additions to the game.
Like golden pigs for the gem store” – Gern.2978
Staff as a melee weapon, with spear skins would be awesome.
Revenant already uses staff as melee weapon. If Warrior suddenly steals it, it’ll get old quick.

Uh, yeah, I think two classes can use a melee staff and still be unique. “Steals” is an odd word to use as well.
My current guess is off-hand pistol or off-hand dagger. Though I think off-hand pistol is somewhat more likely.
and what shall you do with a range offhand but no possible range mainhand? oO

OH pistol could be melee/short range/mobility.
It will be pistol. I am 95% sure.
ANET has come out and said a lot of these Specializations are already in game as teasers. Trahearne/Marjory greatsword.
Rytlok and his pistol.
If it’s not empty-hand, I’d rather Warrior get a dagger. A mech dagger with shrapnel explosive tips and projectile blades.
I wish they’d tell something about specializations already! Just something! Anything!

I wish they’d tell something about specializations already! Just something! Anything!
Because it’s not done and it’s not ready yet!
Ofc they can’t talk about an unfinished project.

Developers talk about content that’s still under development all the time I don’t see what the problem is. By that logic developers could never say anything about upcoming content ever, until the day it is released.

They talked about the other objects because they’re close to completion, so ofc they have something to talk about it. For specialization, it probably is not even half complete for some classes. They can’t talk about it until it’s sufficient enough to talk about it without disappointing the majority of player-base.

Then why did they already tell us the ranger specialization is called Druid and uses a staff on PAX south? You can’t convince me no progress whatsoever was made since then.

Seriously I do not need to convince you. This is just logical assumption as to why they don’t want to talk about specialization. You can keep on whining to Anet and it’s none of my business really because I know they’re not done yet, and they do not want to disappoint the community because it is too important not to screw up on specialization.
Also I said SOME of the classes, not ALL. Also they really haven’t talk about anything about druid yet, all we know is it’s using a staff, that’s it.
You can keep on whining to Anet
All I want is some more information on Specializations, there is no need to be snide.
