Because he’s not very nostalgic.
Same reason I expect Lord Odran got left out, though he seems like a good fit.
A shame fun things could not simply be fun.
Tybalt should be a legend.
Just saying…
Well if they are done announcing revenant skills then revenant has probably the smallest set of skills than any toon in game. I would say “more to come”.
Maybe he does. And we don’t get it.
I’m willing to bet NPC revenants will have access to legends players flat out don’t get.
Just like NPC Mesmers have phantasms we don’t get, and NPC Engies have gadgets and kits we don’t get (Gimme Frost’s frost-thrower already! Screw this ‘flame’-thrower nonsense)
For that matter, Are revenants lore-wise like spirit mediums? Can they ONLY channel legendary heroes? Can they channel spirits in general in order to speak with them? Can someone channel Wynne and give her an opportunity to chew out Caithe for screwing things up so badly? Etc.
I would think Pyre Fierceshot or Tybalt for some kind of range spec
I think Mallyx was a bad choice for the margonite legend, they should’ve picked the Black Beast of Arrgh.

Think the legends may need to be dead or otherwise in the mists for you to channel them.
Rytlock may be there now but I’m betting he escapes.

Togo! Or Urgoz / Kanaxai.
Pyre Fierceshot or Kalla Scorchrazor would be my choices if we wanted charr legends. Or possibly Bonfaaz Burntfur although he was flame legion.

Legend is Legend, does not matter if it was a good guy. Mallyx and Shiro are totally bad Guys, yet they are called upon. So it would be ok for Rytlock to channel Bonfaaz, because Revenants are per A-Net’s Definition not your “Friendly Neighbourhood Heroes”.

Exactly. Revenants are described as being pragmatic and using whatever power they can to achieve their goals. Thus good revenants channeling evil legends makes sense.
Maybe in a future, (i suposse that with the next expansion, new legends will be added to the Revenant).
Perhaps Rytlock connected with Ventari because the Maguuma location, or perhaps the Rytlock searched for help against the Mordremoth’s influence and Ventari was who answered the call.
About future heroes, there could be Hayda (no please no), but in more serioues tone, Livia? we still don’t know what kind of sacrifice did she made when she took the Sceptre of Orr, but knowing her, I think it’s possible she was able to left a noticeable mark in the myst.

But there is a great possibility that Livia is still alive
By the six!! I will be waiting for that.

Revenants are missing the most obvious legend of all.
Think about who’s going to be the first: Rytlock Brimstone. The charr warrior. Now, think back to charr heroes of legend, and one REALLY stands out. Especially with Rytlock being in the position of trying to gather forces, get them to work together, and stand against a huge threat to them all.
That’s right. The Kahn-Ur. The legendary leader of the charr that shaped who they are today, much like Ventari did for the sylvari. And yet, there’s no sign of this legend anywhere! Why? This would be one of the FIRST Rytlock would channel, I would think.
Can anyone come up with a good reason why he’s not one of the legends a Rev can channel?
Because he wasn’t actually in the games. He was historical even for GW1, so he wouldn’t be a suitable choice for starting legends
Tybalt should be a legend.
Just saying…
For only 1600 gems, you too could supplement your new Revenant’s repository, see Gem Store for details.
Honestly i dont see anything epic in Tybalt. Useless …… censure. Glad hes gone as he was a shame for charr race.

Yeah, Pyre or Kalla are much better choices for a charr legend as we know a lot more about them.
Though it would be a bit weird to see Rytlock channel Pyre given that they have the same voice actor lol.
^Mallyx uses Rytlock voice actor as well.

Tybalt? Would he throw apples at the enemy?
Shiro can banish someone to another dimension. Tybalt can make pies and dress like a woman. Not very legendary

Now that you’ve mentioned it, they probably will.
They already beat necros and guardians at their own game. Shiro legend will probably one-up warriors or thieves with spam-able high power physicals. Next they will out-engie engineers.

Every time a Revenant call Snaff an tryes to channel him, he simply takes control of the Revenant body, defeats any foe close by in a few seconds and then heads to the closest lab to continue his experiments.
This has happened already enough times to populate Taumanova with a few dozen of Snaff-minded bodies. They formed a crewe, “Destiny’s Revenge”. They will not appear in the game until we found the scorched and dead body of Kralkatorrik in the next expansion.

Read the 3rd (last) GW2 book. There is – information – there that you might find of interest.
They should add Ceara (Scarlet Briar) as a legend, I miss her laugh

I don’t think that any character of any playable race will be picked.
Shiro Tagachi is likely to become one, but Shiro was no longer human when by the time he was a character in the game. He was an Envoy. Then resurrected himself, but that lasted little and he was way too tall to be pure human, like Turai Ossa, and then he was found again as a spirit in the Domain of Torment.
Unlike him, the Kan-Ur was always charr.
So far I think Glint and Shiro Tagachi will be the main choices… but there’s 3 left. Two core and one elite… so… who knows?

We don’t actually know how many are left (I don’t know where you got the ‘3’ from) but it seems like there are 2 left (one core and one elite). It was datamined that Shiro, Glint and Ventari will be legends. In addition, there are only 2 specializations left (one core specialization and one elite specialization), each probably with their own legend attached to it. Most people are speculating that Glint will be the elite’s legend.
Wow, I was expecting a request for Prince Rurik’s legend. Now I think I’m the only one who’d like that.

I kind of want either a mursaat legend or Saul D’Alessio
if only for the potential elite of spectral agony.
i’d also like a forgotten legend and a seer legend, if those introductions would allow us to get more lore on those guys. XD.
Tybalt should be a legend.
Just saying…
I would say this. 100% this. But that would allow for the possibility to have a character channeling Tybalt while fighting alongside Tybalt…
what about Norn Revenants? since Norn are all about their own Legend….can they channel themselves?
on a nother note, i doubt they will use many human legends. so far, of the datamined and revealed legends only 1 is human, the rest are not.
maybe they add a “Racial Hero Legend” that changes depending on Race and utilizes a USEFULL set of racial skills?
Asura – Snaff
Norn – Jora or Asgeir Dragonrender, the man who pulled Jormags tooth!
Human – too many choices!
Charr – Pyre Fierceshot or Kalla Scorchrazor.
Sylvari – Riannoc, the original wielder of Caladbolg

I expect that, at some point, they’ll add Khilbron as a legend. The guy destroyed Orr, wiped out the Mursaat, and unleashed the Titans into the world. He basically caused the entirety of GW1 and GW2 to happen. He’s had more influence on the world than pretty much any other character, and definitely more than any of the other legends.

Yeah, I think this has been more of a wow-effect-based-selection-process and not so much a lore-based one. It’s not horrible or anything, but it would have been interesting if you got a Legend from each playable race’s history.
Would have offered a nice in-game method of exploring the racial histories. Although I don’t know how ANet would feel about giving the Rev all those nice story and lore elements.
what about Norn Revenants? since Norn are all about their own Legend….can they channel themselves?
I think the selection process for Rev Legends are very much like the selection process for Catholic saints, being dead is a important criteria.

… Huh. That’s actually a pretty useful potential solution to the “Revenants can’t use racial skills” problem.
There was an idea presented in this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/The-Norn-are-watered-down
for racial skill variants to be learnable by all races so that they could be buffed to be on par with profession skills without breaking balance. For example, Norn keep thier transformations, but other races could fufill some quests that allow them to get in tune with norn spirituality which unlocks a ’blessing of Bear/Raven/Etc. skill that gives them the skills by channeling thier power, but without actually being able to transform like norn can. (Making it a little like Rampage on the other races)
So if an idea like that ever happened, Revenants could pull that off by simply learning to channel the other race’s racial legends.

Simple math.
Most professions have utility 5 skill lines (except Engineer, but that should be fixed), and get a new skill line with an elite specialization, so that’s one per specialization.
Revenants get their utility lines from legends, when they swap legend, they swap utilities. Meaning an elite specialization would have to give another legend.
That makes one legend per specialization. So far there’s one elite specialization per profession, so that means 5 core + 1 elite.
Previews hint Glint and Shiro themed skills. And we know 3 legends.
That makes 3 legends we know, 2 we suspect, and 1 left.
