This is week 3 in my guess the next specialization threads…

Week 1 it was unanimously decided that ele would be the first spec released… it was mesmer…

Week 2 was more of a mixed bag of guesses, but much of the discussion focused on engineer.. it was guardian…

What will Week 3 bring us? It seems likely to me that we will get a medium armor class since we have a light and a heavy so far.

It was noted that engineer was the furthest from complete so they are unlikely. I’m guessing we will get Druid this week since we already know what it is called.

Let the guessing begin!

Mesmer → Guardian → Thief → Necro → Warrior → Ranger → Ele → Engineer/Revenant (not sure on this order)

I tried to divide the classes into types (Specialized-Tanky-Versatile)

I think chances are good we’re getting a medium armor class. So either thief, ranger or engineer. But the engineer still looked like it needed some work (last we saw) so in my mind it’s between thief and ranger. I’d go ranger since they’ve already released the specialisation name and weapon.

I wonder if they are revealing them alphabetically. Chronomancer, Dragonhunter, Druid, etc…

Not much help speculating past that since we don’t have the other specialization names.

Most likely a medium class (already did light and heavy), so that narrows it down to 3 (Engi, Thief, Ranger). Will probably be either thief or ranger. Would love to have engi, but seeing their normal traits aren’t finished, I doubt elite ones are.

They do the picture with no text (though we’ve been able to tell easily which class it is) on monday, which will probably be in 3ish hours.

This is my thinking as well, though I am more thinking they will not reveal ranger yet because we already know more stuff about it than thief. I think that because we know less about thief, and so far we have had reveals where we only knew the weapons, it seems likely to be thief to me.

Simplicity is complex.

Good feedback is key to getting the developers to listen to you.

Based on what we know, there are 4 possibilities for deducing the next reveal.

1) Alphabetical order. We know Chronomancer -> Dragonhunter -> Druid?
From this progression, Druid would be a fitting guess. We also know Elementalists specialisation is called Tempest. This means Ele might be one of the last reveal, makes sense considering elementalists also have some coverage from the trait revamp spoilers.

2) Armour type. Light -> Heavy -> Medium?
From the progression, Druid, Thief-X, or Engi-X would be the next one. Considering Engineers isn’t finalised, they’re likely to be excluded until later. Meaning Druid/Thief-X are possible.

3) Weapon concepts that are finalized. Druid? Elementalists? Necromancers?
The previous 2, chronomancer and dragonhunter, were concepts that were finalized early on during the HoT announcements. Players had spotted Mesmers with shields and Guardians with bows for months. Therefore it’s possible the next one be any of those 3 as their weapons have already been confirmed (or datamined).

4) Professions that are ‘not ready’ by elimination.
Engineer-X’s traits were shown to be only unfinished ideas. Last time Revenant was shown, the class was only half finished. Nothing is known about Thief or Warrior.
Mesmer/Guardian is done, that leaves Ranger, Elementalists and Necromancer as possible candidates.

Your logic is wrong Wwefan. We knew that mesmer would have a shield. This was showcased when they announced the xpac.
We didn’t knew a thing about guard but, that’s not a big thing.

As of today, we know for sure that :
- Necromancer will have a greatsword.
- Engineer will have a hammer and some drone thingy.
- Ranger will have a staff elite spec named Druid.
- One elite spec will have 6 shouts.

We suppose and datamined :
- Elementalist elite spec will be called “Tempest”
- Elementalist weapon will be MH sword
- Revenant will have skill that remind shiro, glint and ventari (don’t know if one of them is part of elite spec)
- Sword, dagger and staff (or maybe underwater weapon) have been datamined for revenant.

We don’t know anything about (for sure) :
- Thief
- Warrior

Although, with the fact that there is only 2 heavy profession atm, we can’t assume a rotation : Light/heavy/medium since it will fall off in the middle of the last rotation.

Though, I think it will be engi to be the profession of the week because it’s just ahead of guardian on the forum list of profession while guardian was just ahead of mesmer. This is a silly argument I know but why not

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.

I’m just going to point out that while the core specializations weren’t 100% on the engineer, that doesn’t mean the elite wasn’t already done or close to done.

Of course is has been a few weeks since we had that core specializations preview, so who knows how far along engineer is now.

I’m going to agree that we’ll likely see one of the medium classes this week. Beyond that… I guess, i’ll just wait and see.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

The 2 announced classes were confirmed in the trailer. Mesmer/Chrono was more obvious, while Guardian/Hunter could only be seen in the background if you were extremely observant. In the same trailer, we also saw Engineer/Hammer, Ranger/Druid and a cloth armour wielding a sword, which could have been an Ele, but since Mesmers exist, it’s not direct confirmation.

At the same time, we only knew the weapon Mesmers and Guardians would get and not their name. For that reason, I expect Ranger and Elementalist to be revealed close to last, since we have a name (and a weapon for Druid).

Yea, I forgot to include Engi into my reply after posting it. Also Chrono traits are done, just bad planning on A-net’s part using recorded footage rather than gameplay as demonstrations.

I hate the secrecy on revealing profession concepts, it frustrate more players than keep them curious.

Seems a little odd that a brand new proff would get it because we haven’t played a base play style and therefore adding an elite spec is not as exciting to this proff as would have been if they added later in a content patch.

If ANet stays with the Lb for that stupid DH, then I hope they give the Thief Spec the Torch, which would be for them the most best shadow creating weapon , cause with a source of light with you, you always will have auso a source of shadows with you and it would be as like a mace the best weapon for a “Saboteur” kind of Elite spec together with Tools/Gadgets from the “Engineer” or perhaps "acid flasks/vials and molotov cocctails ect. that could work as Saboteur specific “elixiers” with an improved Initiative System that lets them sabotage all kinds of “minions”, turrets ect. to brainwash/reprogram thaem so that they work for you and not anymore for their original owner, so that the game woudl get finally a good hard counter spec against all thise A.I. helper builds

However, it could also end up as a good alternative as “Ritualist”
That woudl brign back at least some nostalgia back, Necros already have now Spectral Magic and the whole thing about marjory and her dead sister reincarnated soul embodied into her famaly blade whould have been all so useless and unimportant, if that stuff wouldnt have been all hints for ritualistic style gameplay elements gettign merged more with the already more into ritualistic gameplay changed necromancer design with all their Spectral Skills

PS: banshee is no profession name. It is a same as stupid garbage as like dragon hunter.
