What am I doing?
What class are you playing ? Some builds and gears for certain class CAN’T be used in HoT zones, mobs in HoT is much more tougher than core game you might get yourelf killed in 1v1 combat with a single mob.
For first map of HoT Verdant Brink, first thing you need to do is explore all wp within this map then visit this site and learn where are HP at then get them http://dulfy.net/category/gw2/
Verdant Brink ( VB ) has one meta event seperate into Day and Night cycle.
- Both Day and Night map have 4 Tier, if your map get it to Tier 4 you get big reward
- At day you run around the map and do events ( maybe with tag or zerg if lucky ) and get Day map to Tier 4 before nightfall
- At night things get a bit more harder with tons of mordrem mobs spawn and there are a lot of rally point that you need to defend them from those mordrem after that run supplies by spread out and search for pact supply crate > bring it back to your rally point in order to upgrade it, higher tier rally point = faster night map get to tier 4
- When the clock at night count down to 20:00 choppers will begin to appear near some rally point, this is the boss phase use chopper to go up, there are 5 bosses in the area, some of them require masteries to fight like updraft and stealth detection
- Hover your mouse to mini map to check map tier and how much you participated in the map ( max is 200% ), if you get it all done then just wait for the reward when day come back again.
- Verdent Brink is not a zerg event, b4 bosses phase if you stick toghether you LOSE.
My advice is to not over think things. Just run around and kill things and try and do what others are doing. These maps are just amusement parks. Not much is actually happening, and you will pick up on it pretty quick. They just cycle the same content again and again.
Hmm interesting, yeah I entered in at night, I guess that’s why I was confused, during the day it seems more straight forward with escort events and such. Well thanks I’ll just run around and not worry too much about whats going on atm, unless it’s a straight forward event.
If I died fast in HoT the first thing I do is review my build. I go to the professions forum and look for good builds to try. I also sometimes use Dolyak runes for increased survivability.
Getting all the waypoints you can find is a good idea because as groups call out what they’re working on you can instantly port there and join in.
HoT isn’t very intuitive so look over guides like Duffy’s HoT guide for help and read the forums.
