Revenant mostly, probably Necro for Reaper, my usual warrior on and off for stuff
There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon
I will be Maining Rev cause its play style is everything i wanted form the start.

i will give revenant full workout, then i will likely go to ranger, then guardian, then necro to polish off learning to play the new specs.

Revenant/Daredevil will be mine. Herald is iffy, but probably Herald>Revenant. But will see…
It’s a lot of gear to carry around, but Power Ranger, Sinister Ranger and Druid.
i’ll still use my old thief for exploring.
i have no plan on using rev (i dont even have all current professions yet) or elite specs yet.

My warrior. And I will take a rev for a test drive.
|Seasonic S12G 650W|Win10 Pro X64| Corsair Spec 03 Case|
Starting with revenant, good chance I’ll end up with dragonhunter
Personally, I’ll continue to play my necromancer (my main) as a reaper, but I’m also really interested in the chronomancer and the druid! I must confess I no have a real idea of the revenant/herald, but the class looks really fun and I guess a lot of people will play them and stay stuck with them
My thief always gets first look at new content, so he’ll Daredevil his way through the jungle. But my heart belongs to Reaper now. I will have at least two of them — one of my three necros will become one, and I loved my norn Reaper from beta so much I have already created her, tomed her to 80 (first time ever doing that) and geared her up to match my beta build. I’ve also only opened 3 trait lines and ignored skill lines I almost never use, then done one of the HP zergs, so she has 250 HP ready. My existing necro only has 190 HP now, with DT/SW/WvW available to eke out some more, so my norn may be my first full reaper if they really do make us gather 250 HP per elite.
Hmm, come to think of it, if the final two unlocks on the elite wheel are just skins, then I don’t have to achieve 250 HP on everyone, just one per profession. A small victory … gods, there are so many of them!
I’m a little bit surprised because I thought that the tempest and the berzerker would have more players, because to me both professions are currently the most played
I think the berzerker is insanely strong! I don’t know much about the tempest but the anmations are really beautiful, and the class is still the definition of multitasking

I’m going to try out the new Minion Master build on the necro (before it gets nerfed down to worthless).
ANet may give it to you.
My warrior with his trusty Moot and SHield will be my first in, untouched by any new traits, followed by my ele who may or may not go Tempest. I am levelling a necro ready to be a reaper pretty much as soon as HoT hits.

I’m very interested in this, as well. I will still main my Ranger/Druid, though, I’m sure.
Funny part is the druids voting will have a big shocking change to deal with at launch…you will spend a lot less time in celestial form and do less healing if you don’t wear pure healing gear with the changes they have mentioned already.
Specifically that staff allowed people to go back into celestial too fast, and that base healing is going down so that you have to stack healing gear to have the same effect as the BWE3.

Im thinking of going Scrapper, with my second probably being dragonhunter. I love the way the scrapper felt, and I can get good power with good toughness as well.

My mesmer will be my main and most likely go Chrono. I also want to level a Rev but most likely will do that the old fashioned way and at some point will bring my Guardian into the fun but not sure if I will go Dragonhunter with her.
Chronomancer and a tad of Reaps
Most likely my main. An Elementalist. She might go Tempest. Tackle the Personal Story and exploration with the character I’m best at.
But I might alternate between her and my planned Revenant.

im going to try to use all of them i got enough tomes to instant 80 the rev but im thinking of working out all the elites to see if my main will change. right now my main is mesmer. havent been able to do the betas to try them out
Scrapper until a future Elite Specialization catch my interests.
It will be Hammer time!
I have a feeling I will be playing the Druid and Herald more than any of the others.

I’ll Stick With Swindle Rogue (my thief) At First While Dabbling With A Few Other Classes When The HoT Expansion Is Released.
At the moment HoT hits, I’ll abandon my ele main and go exploring with mesmer, who will immediately become chrono. Then I’ll create revenant/herald, who will probaby become my new main. I will also use Reaper a lot (mainly for PvP). Other specs, except tempest, I will use sometimes.

scrapper… cause engi is sorta my thing… on the side i pull up a necro cause reaper is just too fun not to have…and i got no necro so its bout time
I’ll start things off with my Reaper since he’s practically my main character of the story. Revenant will go next.
Prob my engi. Been getting comfortable with the class in SW, even using a squishy build. Will def level a Rev, but will prob use a metric ton of scrolls and tomes, so I don’t have to do much actual leveling.

Toss up between my ranger or engineer
I love the ranger but wasn’t too big of a fan of druid
On the other hand I loved the scrapper but other than that I’m not too much of a fan of swapping kits 20 times during a fight
This strawpoll is good for Anet I guess, it would allows to see what are the community’s preferences and try to improve the others specs to balance the repartition at the release
Currently, druid/herald/reaper are by far above the others… I didn’t test the beta but it’s maybe because of a problem with balance.
It’s unfunny,in my opinion to play a clone. I main my necro for a while, and stayed stuck with her despite the up/nerfs. It was a good experience to play a less popular class, because generally, people who played the necro were really good with him and it was really interesting to discuss and share tricks and strategies between each other.
I’m actually afraid of the hype on the herald/druid/reaper. Because a lot of newcomers will try, fail and go on this forum to cry, which could explode the balance of these classes. I don’t know what you’re thinking about it, but IMO it’s not a good point to see a huge majority run a few classes and let the others behind.
My necromancer is the only one of my characters so far that’s completed every part of the story so he’ll be the first to do all the new story parts.
I imagine though that I’ll be spending a lot more time in wvw after release so my ranger, guardian and maybe even mesmer will be getting some good time in there.
I intend on leveling up Revenant the slow way to see what that’s like, she might eventually see the jungle haha!
Scrapper all the way, engineer for life.
Likely Reaper, chrono, berserker, scrapper if I can get more used to it and possibly druid.

Day 1: Create a Rev, level him to 80 in tutorial, log out and swap to Necro main and play HoT. Can’t wait to get a greatsword and Reaper Shroud on him.. >.<

Scrapper, might try Druid as I mained a Ranger for 2.5 years. And probably check out Revenant to see what the fuss is all about.
But for the first few weeks/months it will be a Scrapper.
All.
/15Chars
The same main as I chose for the release/headstart of the core game. Not gonna change main for an expansion. My ranger all the way.
I might equip the elite spec, but only for a trait or 2 in it… don’t particularly like it otherwise. All that healing to me is very meh.
My primary elite spec will likely be the reaper. It’s very polished and I’m sure that I will have a lot of fun with it if it stays like it was in beta. My necromancer is almost at level 80. I’m leveling through the zones instead of using tomes so that I can get some exploration, learn more about the profession and get hero points along the way.
I will likely go through the HoT content on my ele first though. She has had my favorite play style since I created her and I want to begin the HoT content with a profession that I know how to play better, especially since prices of loot will be crazy at first. I need to get that gold. I don’t think that I will be using tempest though.
I will also undust my ranger and try making a druid hybrid spec for the initial HoT open world content. I’m curious to see if it will work with the changes that Irenio has planned.
Still fairly new. Have an 80 Ranger and 80 Necro that I eventually want to get their Elite Specs. On their heels is my Guardian. My goal is to get her to 80 and have the HP waiting for Dragonhunter. Just so hard to play her, knowing what she will be able to become, and stuck with what she has until then. I want to be a Dragonhunter NOW! lol My Ranger isn’t happy about that plan, as it is her Ascended Bow that will be handed over.
So I guess the answer for who am I going to play at release? Whichever of those 3 is best prepared for their Elite Spec that day.
Ranger, Guardian and Mesmer to start, then I’ll spread out. I’ll level a revenant slowly in my spare time.
For functional use id go with a mortar or flamethrower engi to tag mobs n get the most exp out of events since we want fast mastery xp. But tempted to try a rev just to get a full new experience, havent even played the beta maps.
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore
Revenant/Thief and their respective specs. I don’t really have much of a choice to play rev since it’s the new thief anyways.
Going Scrapper/Engi here.
My main has been thief for a long time…but I’m really not happy with how Daredevil turned out and playing engineer lately has been a blast (pun intended).
Even though I don’t currently think I will have any incentive to use any of the new gyros (except Function Gyro) , I still think that the hammer and traits are done well enough that the Scrapper will be worth playing, even if the gyros don’t get fixed well enough for release.

Said Scrapper but my ele main will be the first class I play (and will definitely not be using Tempest, which is still probably the worst elite spec). Then either one of my guardians (no DH either) or one of my engis (turned scrapper to see if it gets any better).
Base class(es) should also be in the list of choices (or even just one thats something like “sticking with base class”).
Please give us a keyring…

I honestly don’t know which class I’ll take out for a spin first. Every time I think I’ve come to a decision, something else to consider pops into my head.
Considering only my ele, mes, necro, and ranger have enough points to elite spec right away, I’m guessing it’s going to be one of those 4. I’ve still got a couple of weeks left to decide.

Prob my engi. Been getting comfortable with the class in SW, even using a squishy build. Will def level a Rev, but will prob use a metric ton of scrolls and tomes, so I don’t have to do much actual leveling.
I was planning on doing a mixed leveling thing (like use a tome every time I gained a level), and then I realized that before lvl 80 all exp I earn goes only to leveling, whereas all exp I earn after 80 goes to masteries.
So since I have enough scrolls/tomes to hit 80 not doing so would be a massive waste of exp that could have gone into masteries instead, so I’m now in the insta level camp.
There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon

Does using a tome at level 80 do nothing for mastery advancement then?
I suppose it wouldn’t, it just didn’t occur to me.

No, Tomes and Writs of exp do not give mastery exp.
Writs are unusable at 80, and I think tomes just give one lame-oh spirit shard.
Exp boosters do seem to increase mastery exp though, at least during the beta weekend, so celebration/BDay boosters are better saved for mastery exp and "tome"ing to 80 seems to be the most efficient exp wise if you can.
