Based on my current situation, I do have money for the expansion, but would like to know exactly what I am getting day 1, since I heard something about raids and guild halls wont come before 31th.

(I figured it might be because it is in the middle of the month, but still Halloween, and people have something else to use the money on, or that people need time to get the masteries to complete the raids/guild halls?).

But if I am not mistaken, I get day 1:

Personal story
New Maps
Revenant
Specialisation
New WvW maps * (Heard everyone get these, so hard to say if count in the expansion).

In other words, I can wait until getting the expansion to the 13th?

(keep in mind I will be empty right after I use the money I get, so would like to hold on to them if not a necessary buy, even though I got no idea what to use them for atm).

Ohh, it was just in general what I get, I honestly dont care about precursor/ascended even tho I got legendary and ascended atm, I would rather have fun and explore rather than “grind”.
But I guess we are different players that way.

Either way, I just wanted to know exactly what I am getting with the expansion on day 1, and if not that important/I dont miss out on anything fun, i could just wait until the real things start to show since I can anyday look for ascended, but not anyday try out raid with guildies, or obtain a guild hall for the first time with guild mates.

I never grind. (Except maybe back when CoF is the only source of income, I did grind that dgn for 3 days, then I can’t stand it anymore and stopped)
The “grind” part is from 3 years of normal play. (PVP/WVW/PVE/dgn/fractal)

Now the only thing I’m short of is Zap, the precursor, that’d be coming from the mastery collection thingy.

Also bat ascended shoulder is awesome and Halloween exclusive.

My guess is most people are going to be doing Halloween content primarily. If you’re not interested in getting exp for your Mastery lines by doing that or playing the Rev, you can wait. You’ll get a char slot, if you buy before the expansion.

Guild Halls are available from release, but are gated by Favor. It is said average? Guilds should be able to acquire said needed Favor within the first week.

You may (if eligible) miss out on the pre-purchase bonus character slot, if that has any attraction for you, by waiting.

There is no set date (the 31st) for when Raids will become available. It could be that early, but likely later than just a week.

Yeah, main reason I wrote “grind” instead of grind :P It is not bad at all, looks pretty cool, but not something I would do unless if I got nothing else to do, never been that big on the looks of gear etc.

Can care less implies you do care because you could otherwise be less caring. I believe you meant to say couldn’t care less implying that you honestly don’t give a kitten.

As for what you get on day 1, probably the most significant thing is access to mastery tracks meaning that all the experience you acquire will help progress you instead of just going to waste accomplishing nothing. When you finally do get HoT, you’ll still need to get that experience so you’ll be behind everyone else.

Furthermore, (depending on living world releases) you also get those for free because ANet has said you need to have HoT for living world season 3. I would imagine if you don’t have HoT, you get the opportunity to pay 200 gems later for the episode after you get HoT.

Those are the big things, however you’d also get access to guild halls, elite specializations, the revenant, the jungle, continuation to the story, and presumably higher level fractals that cannot be completed without the related mastery track. The sPvP & WvW maps are for everyone (while some sPvP champions are for HoT owners only).
