As in I buy it right now, what am I getting? I assume playing as a revenant before HoT launches is out of the question.

Depending on when and from where you bought the game, a character slot. There’s really no other benefits since the beta weekends are over as far as we know.

Well depending on if you buy the base version or one of the deluxe versions there are in game rewards and gems.

They might open up another raid test given how few testers managed to get into the raids last weekend. So that could be a benefit. Also there is a title, Maguuma Trailblazer, that only prepurchasers get. I’m not clear on whether the spiffy green smoke glider is only for prepurchase or goes to anyone buying Premium or Deluxe ever. I do think the unique guild hall decoration is only for prepurchasers (I could be wrong).

Those versions are not dependent upon you pre-purchasing though.

Please do not mistake preorder with prepurchase.

Preorder will not give you any of the perks of getting the expansion earlier. You will just be making a reserve for a post release buy. Don’t fall for that.

Consider also that with the 3 Beta WeekEnds done and closed, the advantages of prepurchasing HoT are MUCH smaller now.

In addition to the possible character slot there is the title ‘Maguuma Trailblazer’.

Personally I’d hold off, be patient, save some coin, and play a finished game in 2-3 months once the dust has settled and it’s cheap at your local game store.

This is only based on my highly subjective experience in-game, conversation with others, and research/reaction from players and peers online but I’m not paying that much to be a beta tester, and I cued up at game stores for the last three expansions but this feels rushed.

I also want to see if it’s Grind Wars 2…if so all good but I’ll move on.
