…finishers in PvE. Back during season 1 with the toxic alliance Anet had the sylvari mobs stompable. Loved being able to see/use my finishers in the game mode I spent the most time in. But since then we’ve seen nothing else added. Would love to see some mobs in HoT that where stompable. Maybe those human form mordrem that we’ve seen in HoT. Am I the only one that wants this to happen?
YES, I actually thought that was pretty cool having some enemies where you wanted to stomp them to prevent coming back. Doesn’t need to be all but having some nasties that do it woudl be awesome.
Agreed. I’m kind of hoping some of the corrupted sylvari will need to be finished when taken down.

Maybe have downed functionality in the “group instances/raids/dungeons/whatever they have planned for new group content”. Would be nice to have the ability to “down” the bosses, and the bosses would have different downed abilities or functions.
I’d love to have the ability to down enemies in PvE content, but not all of them. It would get annoying to have to stomp every creature you kill.
It was an interesting change, although not everyone liked it. Not sure about breakdowns though i.e. how many people were for, against and neutral.
I also enjoyed this very much. I’ve love to see the playable race enemies (enemy Sylvari, enemy Human, enemy Norn, enemy Asura, enemy Char) stompable. So that we don’t have to do it constantly, just make their “downed” health pool very low so a few extra shots will kill them if you don’t want to stomp.
You can still use your finishers in places like Kessex Hills where the Toxic Krait, etc. still roam about.

I can think of several others besides immersion. My favorite reason is that I didn’t particularly enjoy the mechanic so I’d rather they not include it everywhere. It was ok the first dozen times or so, but then it got old and annoying. I’d much rather kill them and not have to worry about stomping them.
If it stays an optional side feature that I can ignore, then I have no problem with it being in the game. I just don’t want it to spread everywhere.

This would be neat. Though I’d suggest that only veteran or higher enemies of those races would actually get downed states. It would be a way to make the “harder” enemies seem a bit more unique at the same time as reducing the potential annoyance factor of every mob going into a downed state.
I thought it was cool the first few times but then it got very tedious. I’d be ok with it not returning.

Same thing that happened to 90s clothes. I don’t think many are looking to revive the obnoxious PvE stomping.
Yes it was a bit obnoxious when it was every sylvari mob in the toxic alliance. However having vets, elites, champs have a down state plus add mechanics for that state would make it better. Have them have their own set of down skills plus have mobs change what they are doing when a vet, elite, champ, goes down near them. Maybe some mobs try to rez or knock-back/immobilize. Or you have mobs like the mordrem menders that we have now that heal friendly mordrem have an extra skill like our revival skills. If the menders aren’t being attacked, interrupted, killed they could rez the champ from his down state.
I actually really like the idea of using this for veterans, to make them more unique and stand out.
Could make for very interesting event map encounters if we had sub-bosses who had to be stomped while the normal enemies refused to let you. Just add sub-boss things which hinder large areas with random area AoEs when downed (which wont die until stomped) and give supporting weak creatures interrupt abilities which they tend to save for people trying to perform stomps.
We could create an entire industry of players dedicated to stopping mooks from interupting stomping noobs ^^
