What happens after the hype?
It is just another traitline.
You can switch it out of combat without problems.

after the hype?
—> a lot of disappointment for rangers like me?
Who cares about rangers anyways…
The hypetrain came to halt when they revealed engi, so now I’m waiting either for release, the next BWE, and/or more detailed blogposts about guild-halls / raids.
The value of HoT isn’t just in specializations, or even in a new profession. Part of the value, for me anyway, is masteries, guild halls, gliding, and the continuation of the story. The story, from what little I played in the betas, is pretty good. I like the way it’s being handled. It feels darker than previous stories, which I like.
Basically it’s like saying I’m going to stop watching Lord of the Rings after the first movie. Well you can, but you won’t get the rest.
Masteries are the new form of progression, something I’ve been waiting for a long time. Want to instantly grab your loot instead of interacting with a key? Better level that pact commander mastery. Want to craft your own precursor for a legendary weapon…you need HoT. Want to glide over the jungle, use bouncing mushrooms, or talk to the hylek and learn their secrets…you need masteries.
The new specializations are cool and all, but I’m more interested in the new maps and new stories and I know a lot of people are more interested in raids.
And of course, the release cadence is going to increase afterwards, and you won’t be able to experience that new stuff without HoT.

Thank you!
After the hype…hmm, for me? New Tomb Raider. I’ll give Halo 5 a ride too.
Crystal Desert
Memory is short. A couple months ago we had a HUGE reworking of our trait into specialisation. So when you ask ‘’Do i get stucked with my old traits forever and no innovation?’’ It seem a bit dramatic since they changed your old traits and gave us innovation not so long ago.
Yes some Specialisation seem not that good, but over time this list is more and more limited in my mind. My main is a guardian so i’m a bit disapointed, but Daredevil will be awesome when they fix the feeling of the dodges, i’m still super hype about the reaper, Bezerker seem funny to play, herald look so good, etc.
And like Vayne said, there is a lot more to HoT than specialisation.
After the hype we settle in to farm the new map rewards?
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Darker than your companion’s sibling getting killed in front of your eyes?
Darker than watching as your race’s leadership tacitly condones the slaughter of another race because he believes yours to be superior?
Darker than having to participate in the slaughter of friendly Centaurs, even knowing that your “love” attacked first and her violent obsession will drive your entire race into ruin?

Precursor crafting? The need for 250 bolts of Damask and spiritwood planks says hi! -_-

- The Belinda part was not very dark for me. She was just a “Hi Sister, Bye Sister”-Character, i had no Connection to her.
- Specifics on the second one? Which race are we talking about?
- The Centaur part felt awful for me. I would have prefered to not fight at all, but i had to kill the Centaurs to progress. Even leaving my Mentor to die on the Claw Island was not as heartbreaking as killing those Centaurs…

.
He/she should be refering to LS2 Chapter Seed of truth, 2nd seed. (Just keeping spoilers out of the thread)

I think it’s darker because we’re not following tiny events. Sure a murder is a bad thing, but it’s against a backdrop of humor quite a bit of the time. Taimi and Braham have some funny bits, and they lighten the mood.
I can’t really see a whole lot of light mood in the jungle, all things considered. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t see Phlunt there to break things up. I see a darker over all storyline with a lot more immersion. At least I believe that’ll be the case.

That Race, i see.
