…was cool? And provided diversity and a rewarding feeling for healing your folks, or tanking for them? But in a more action way with the awesome fluid combat system GW2 has? What if a great part of the raid still could be zerker-focused and feel rewarded for dealing huge damage? What if those horrible thoughts about this single word has been a devil’s advocate fallacy?

We have “soft” trinity. They are: DPS, Support & Control.

I personally don’t prefer “hard” trinity, sometimes if you purely depend on your healer, you become reckless, less aware of your own skills, etc.

I prefer having the flexibility of determining my own fate

Honestly, just buff Healing Power and introduce a “Boon Duration” stat that increases OUTGOING boon duration and you will have the stat array that would be great for folks who want to heal. There is a lot of options for giving heals out (more so on Guardian), its just that healing power has such a horrible ratio.

If I spec all healing on my Guard and focus on healing/buffing abilities, its not bad per say…but it really is not great.

You don’t need to buff healing power. It’s already very powerful since you can make a unkillable healer right now in the game. It’s the content design that make healer not so good right now.

We have a game with slow powerful attacks and a good amount of active defence that need no investment in gear. We just don’t need the heals.

Now if they add more small attacks that can’t be all blocks and make it challenging enough so that all our active support isn’t enough then you gonna start to see more ’’healer’’ to keep the team alive in addition to all the active defense. Not sure if that’s a great idea, but it would work.

Just buffing healing won’t make it more appealing if you can still do the job just fine with active defense while keeping your dps.
