Guild Wars 2

I know a great deal of us are just jumping out of our skins, we can’t wait for Oct 23rd! Oh, my goodness, I am so excited!

We, the veteran players, get to play something NEW! For everything you have shown us ArenaNet, I want to sincerely thank you for all the work you have done for us!

Some of us can’t wait to fly!
Some of us can’t wait to been Mordremoth and give him the finger!
Some of us can’t wait to see if Caithe truly stole that egg with intentions of having a delicious omelette!
MOST of us can’t wait until we get into our guild halls and finally marvel at the beautiful detailed designing the ANet Devs have produced for us!

Now, my hope is that… since MY guild is only just my husband and I… that perhaps claiming our own guild hall is a battle that is scaled to the size of the guild?

My husband and I would truly be crushed if we… couldn’t enjoy this amazing content!

My hope at the moment .. that it not drives me aways from the game and there
are at least some new armor sets that are not buried behind raids or abnormal
masses of grind. Over 1 year with only carapace as new armor is really more than
enough

That druid can salvage what is otherwise, to me, an unappealing release (based on what has been shown so far).

My hope is that Revenant will prove to be a useful and desirable class in PvE and PvP.

As someone who is absolutely in love with the Revenant, I’m really worried that the class will end up lackluster and avoided by many serious PvE parties. The constant damage boosts are nice and I believe the Herald specialization will help, but we’ll get a better feel for it in the next beta test. We have less than 2 months left to bring Revenant up to par with existing classes before HoT goes live.

(Also I hope more armor sets are added to HoT than outfits, because customization!)

My hope for HoT is that it’s enjoyable for me and my guild. Whether that’s claiming our hall, getting wafflestomped in raids or just gliding around the canopy.

I’m mostly interested in exploring new maps and encounters. It’s the trip that drives me, not the destination.

I hope not too much masteries are in need for first raid’s wing.

If we need to train all itzel, nuhoc or whatever mastery line in order to beat the first wing challenges, that will make a lot of players to rush the HoT content and they will get frustrated and disappointed with the game veri quickly.

I would also hope that the first wing came after a mont, not after a week from relase (for the same reason as before). But we already know thats not going to happen.

My serious hope is that I can make it through quickly as I dislike jumping, mazes and djungles and would have hoped for another scenario.
I also want to see the story progress, despite the crappy ls2 performance.

My not so serious hope is that the raid is supereasy and the raid people finally get what they asked for, but it still amounted to nothing. That would be funny!^^

My hope is, that HoT sells itself good enough with new Content, so that it will fill the Content Drought with Gameplay, that will keep us busy long enough, until the next Expansion…

My general hope after HoT Release is, that certain other aspects of the game will receive then finally the dire attention, which the deserve since Game Release to get significantly improved or get finally in overall implemented, which should have been implemented already sicne Game Release, iE. Polymok, Bar Brawls, Target Shooting for example… but maybe some of the things find now as “Adventures” into the game, who knows

However, WvW is in an absolute need to get seriously looked at, ocne HoT is out, and especially also its Achievements. 3 years + and no solution to these unachieveable placeholders is unacceptable, how long should we wait longer ?
Until we all are old and gray??

Seriously though, I just hope that its still as friendly to casual players as the core is.

I hope that the tone of the story stays as good as the small preview I saw in the beta! Since release, they’ve seemed to slowly erode the silly elements in their storywriting, and the HoT beta preview mission was awesomely grim, gritty and serious, a good return to form I’d say! So if they continue in that line, I’m a very happy player.

I also like how every time I encountered a new enemy in the beta and expected to faceroll it, I got smacked for my insolence until I figured out how to defeat it! The new AI looked promising.

But most of all, I can’t wait to find out the mysteries of the jungle, and most of all about the Exalted. I’m SO curious about them!

I hope daredevil will make thief more enjoyable for me.

I hope tempest doesn’t get nerfed (That’s a pipe dream and I know it. a nerf is all but guaranteed.)

I hope the druid actually does something for Ranger. I hope they introduce two handed axes, because my warrior just isn’t man enough with out one.

It sounds way way way too hopeful and technical but an upgrade to DirectX 11/12 would be <3, not something they could really release with an expansion I guess though…

I hope the hardcore players don’t take it to serious and annoy all the casual players

I hope they can convince me it’s worth buying with the Engi/Ranger specializations.

This. Exactly.

I’m tired of my burly thief looking like he’s standing inside a pyramid. A few trenchcoat styles are fine, because some people like them. But there are way too many.

And why does heavy armor get all the skimpy (male) love? Sure, light gets a little. But medium is way too modest, in my opinion. Oh, at least on males. I mean, look at “sneakthief” for some ridiculous disparities. “Assassin” armor is another culprit.

Heavy and light armors are very diverse when compared with the angular trenchcoats of medium male armor. Change it up, please.

I hope they can prove to me its worth buying instead of quitting this game altogether and this time permamently.

What I want to see is not Hot itself but what will be done to improve population imbalance and WvW issues in general. If WvW becomes worth staying for, I will buy it, if not, then not.

And I am not taking their hype and broken promises for it anymore, but will judge upon what actually goes live into the game and how it effectively or ineffectively it addresses these issues.

I’m excited about nearly everything so far, except for one thing . . . so I guess that would make my hope: “I hope Dragonhunter becomes an elite specialization and not a disappointment.”

Erm, drood not being so bad it makes me delete all of my ranger’s gear again (but this time I’ll move ascended to my other chars), make it usable in raids.

New pets. Buff to pets. Bla blal bla that stuff you know.

More ascended dropss. More ascended stuff. More ascended.

Would I think that it is funny if a game mode that is of disputable size and popularity but shamelessly lobbied for by vocal fans until it was finally implemented shows that is not sustainable on a larger scale like PvP is too, while a mode like WVW has to live in the shadows but still performs well, probably much to the astoundishments of devs, ultimately fails to deliver?

You can bet your rear on it.

No raid will ever be good enough for the upper ranks of raiders, and Anet is in for a nasty surprise if they realize how much work it will be for them to make these kind of raiders happy. If they just sit it out like with other modes, the´re back to square 2 at least (yes, we have raids, no matter that they suck or are not popular) and away from square 1(we have no raids).

But let´s not open that box with a serious conversation, I wrote that this is my not so serious hope, not something I actualyl expect to happen anyway.

I hope I can get 1 hour of enjoyment for every $1 I decide to spend on it. I’m deciding between Deluxe and Ultimate at the moment.

I hope they don’t render another set of ascended armor useless by nerfing my builds. I’m get tired of the tedious crafting.

I hope I get a couple more years out of this game seeing as the first one did just that.

Also about the small guild thing. From what I heard you can invite others to help you take over your guild hall.

Well the charr never had said “180”. Abbadon commanded the titans to command the charr to invade the human kingdoms…especially ascalon what belonged to the charr before the humans drove em out. In fact its the humans who should be the ones getting their kitten together..and they technically already do thx to the truce the queen worked out. So yea.. technically its the humans and their gods fault that this even happened in the first place…just think about it. Id be mad too if you would kick me from my turf and claim it as yours. Also the charr seperated themselfes from anything “divine” and in fact banished the legion who did worship the titans and opressed their chicks… among other kitten moves. Their invention of the printing press also made the tyrian language available to all races… but lets not derail the topic.

My hopes included more love for mix and matchers, more focus on the other playable races and their technology, magic, lore and so on aswell as a full armor set for each specialisation to have some more mechanical pieces to work with for my main´s apperance and some more appealing engineer kits. Well.. i doubt anything like that is gonna happen… with the few skins we get, the constant sylvari cyrclejerking…and the focus on only giving npcs the nice stuff..like the flamethrower chick in the raids shows. Oh well.. i hope atleast the forge spec is gonna be fun to play…

Well, I’m guessing they might edit the existing LFG tool to allow you to draft a ten man team. My impression is that they mean that they don’t want to implement a tool where you just queue up and then instantly get dropped into the raid once nine other people are found. I think they don’t want to add such a function since it just futher encourages people to not socialize in an MMO. It’s one of the things I also dislike about today’s MMO communities; there’s too many people too scared or who can’t be “bothered” with talking to others, not even doing group content, as if it’s hard or something to make small talk. They just become faceless, voiceless drones and that’s sad. So, having as little as possible of tools that could encourage such behaviour, especially when it comes to content that’s supposed to be hard and require coördination from the whole team, would be a good thing.

To drop in price a week after it’s release. Sorry for being so blunt, but you asked so … .

That’s a matchmaking LFG tool and that feature doesn’t even exist for current dungeons and fractals. So you can bet your bottom it won’t exist for raids.

They will probably just add a new tab under the current LFG window titled “raids”.

But raids aren’t meant to be as easy as dungeons are. It’s not something they really intend for PUG’s to do. So I don’t see an issue with making those who do want to PUG it anyway, have to work harder to do so.

I hope that there is actually gonna be enough content to justify the price which is almost as high as the full core game when it came out.

I hope it will be 30 euro’s or less before i lose interest init!

They didn’t say no LFG. They said no raid finder. As in “click button get random party” the way a certain other game did it.

LFG and raid finder aren’t the same thing. One requires people to actually create a group and gives them an opportunity to synergise their builds before entering. The other just makes a best guess based upon a button click and seldom works out right unless you dumb down the content to cover up the flaws in the matchmaking system.

My hope is that they show me something that will make.me want to preorder it. Otherwise I’ll be getting it at some point. So far nothing as made me think I must have it. Not saying things don’t look interesting. They do, just not nomygod this is amazing.
