I’ve changed my mind on HOT and want to cancel my pre-order. Is there a link somewhere that describes hot to do that?

just open up a support ticket and ask for a refund, make sure to add your email, card info or paypal info, address, and the order id (that u got in ur confirmation mail when pre purchasing). this will save u some time, they ask for this to make sure its u.

Depends. As far as I know, Heart of Thorns isn’t available for pre-order yet. It’s a pre-purchase, which means you bought the product and already got it (the access key and any items, depending on the package you purchased). I have no idea if they can and/or are willing to remove your account’s access and any items you got out of the package. You could indeed try a support ticket, but I wouldn’t hold your breath if I were you.

if you pre ordered you plunked down what 5 bucks? you have to talk to the store were you did your pre order anet cant help you.

Yeah, as others have already pointed out you didn’t pre-order it if you bought through the GW2 website. Instead you pre-purchased the game which means you’ve bought it before it’s released. Now, you’ve already had some of the benefits of pre-purchasing the game (including the right to participate in the beta-weekend last weekend) so convincing them to issue a refund might be difficult.

If you got it from the Guild Wars 2 website and want to get it refunded, ask FIRST if this will terminate your account. If it does and you get a refund you will lose everything and will have to start completely over from the beginning with a brand new account (and at this stage you might have to buy the expansion unless you find a box copy of the original version at a retail store).

Not true. I personally was able to get a refund on my pre-purchase and nothing bad happened to my account. They just removed it.

I ended up re-buying it after they added the extra character slot, though. lol

Depends on what level you bought. The basic? Sure, easy enough to remove and add. The ultimate? That’s got account unlocks associated with it, as well as gems. Depending on Anet’s tools, they may really have to totally close your account.

Even if I already pre-ordered and I won’t cancel my order, that new elementalist elite really has me disappointed. I wished I would have waited to see the whole thing about hardcore content before I buy it.

The biggest problem really is that (just like with beta/alpha) prepurchase and preorder are not used correctly, but all companies either, so can’t really blame ppl for not knowing the real difference

In other words, they have your money with a promise to give you a product . . . eventually. Good luck with that refund request. Oh . . . and know what you’re buying beforehand.

Hopefully you didn’t purchase the one with 4k gems and then spent those gems, because then you are likely SOL.

I dont think you can get your money back. If you buy the game its over, game companies dont return money.

Except that people have gotten refunds all along for Guild Wars 2, so maybe Anet isn’t one of those companies.
