What's next for HoT reveals?
Why would they stop releasing specs? That would make no sense at all. The hype is finally building again and people are excited. It would be marketing suicide to stop releasing specs at this point…
I’m hoping they finish the reveal of Revenant, then get back to specs, then finish with Revenant specs.

It would be more marketing suicide to release all of them now and then don’t have a release until a couple of months after the last one was revealed.
It does after all seem to be the thing that interests most people.
It seems smarter to have these three now, then a week or two with other stuff (Guild Halls, Revenant, Challenging Group content) and the go with either the rest or three more with a break for lore info and then finish up with the last three soon before release.

It could be that the other specs are not far enough along. It could also be that they want to save some hypebuilding for later. Either way, it was stated that only 3 would be announced initially. How much time it will take until the next spec is unknown.

I suppose so, I guess I just figured the release would be in August. 6 more weeks of classes already brings us to July, then guild halls, challenging group content, the new challenges, and the promised legendary blog post would bring us to August. Then open beta then release.
I suppose a week or two break wouldn’t be terrible, but the classes that got left out are going to be angry.
it would be suicide if they just stopped giving info about HoT in general, but not if they took a break from the specs. i hope if they take the break from the specs that they talk more about Guild Halls in particular since that is a big thing that should be addressed and even address some other smaller questions that have come up on the boards as well or clarify things about any additional maps, etc.

It would not be “marketing suicide”.
Loads of MMOs have previewed all the new class/race material long before the actual expansion released and have done just fine. People whinge and moan, but it doesn’t reduce the hype. In fact, keeping class stuff secret too close to release tends to generate ridiculous conspiracy theories and hate.
I wouldn’t mind taking a week for them to give us details on Guild Halls, then do another 3 specializations, then a week for to cover ‘challenging group content,’ and then cover the last 3 specializations.
Not sure if they’d go that route though.
Oh, interesting. Poll shows people believe they’ll show challenging group content!
They’ve already said they are taking a break from spec reveals but next week will have something “big.”

crosses fingers and whispers to himself “raid content, raid content, raid content”
Guild halls, some of the ??? masteries, those are the best chances I Think.
I’m guessing Guild Halls will be next. It’s the last specific topic they haven’t gone into yet. While they might give us some more clues into challenging group content, I think that will wait until they open up a beta test for larger parts of the map.
Honestly ? i hope some lore this week, and then a feature next week, and then we will return to the Elite Specializations. As much as I like the latter, I really want to learn more about the Lore of the jungle right now, especially its inhabitants. With some luck, the Hyleks and Exalted aren’t the sole civilizations of the Jungle.

I’m guessing guild halls. Remember that this week is ready up, not points of interest. Therefore I think things like lore, masteries and challenging group content are unlikely.
I wouldn’t say that an HoT reveal is a given – maybe we aren’t getting one at all this time.
Instead, they may give us info about some feature pack of sort that includes the trait (specialization) system revamp and other game changes, to be released next week.
I’m remaining pessimistic as I think the trickles of information are coming in quite slow… so I think this week we’ll just see some more details on the WvW beta (which ofc only 5% of us will get to play anyway).
Voted accordingly and feel that too many voted with their hearts, over their heads, because I doubt we get to see a reveal on guild halls or challenging group content, although I’d love if it was that.

The best revelation will be: “We changed the name of the DragonHunter” or maybe "In HoT, you can go to the “Crystal Desert” :P

I doubt it would be WvW details, since they’ve already revealed the WvW map and gone through it.
They did say that next week would be a big reveal, and from the sounds of it the PoI will be running for longer.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
I want them to reveal the new legendary longbow so i can start prepping mats for it. It possibly couldnt be any worse than Kudzu, right??
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore
My guess is the new “challenging group content” or the “new legendary weapons”
I would be happy with guild halls as well. Anything else would be disappointing.
You missed the option for “Beta”.
Why do we gather 2 weeks now those portals?? :p
I think even better than beta is to roll some content patch to live game !
Legends or guild halls. Anything else I walk…jk
My guesses in order of likelihood (according to my opinion of course):
1) Guild Halls – if Rubi didn’t overhype (like she tends to do) this is the big exciting thing as it has been requested before the original release and is the most talked about feature in the forums from the beginning days.
2) Revenant full reveal – they only gave us a partial reveal originally and said they would revisit again later because it was “no fun to give everything away at once.” They have to give a better reveal before the end of spec reveals in order to give the spec for Revenant (especially what the baseline weapons officially will be).
3) Beta date set – because yeah…they just gave those portals.
4) Legendary preview
5) “Challenging content” – they were very mysterious on what this would be (I think intentionally) so perhaps a reveal of some of this perhaps.

Personally I would put pre-order launch on top. It would qualify more as something big. The releasedate for GW2 was announced two months before the actual release. the pre-order started another 2 months before that. So if they open pre-order now, (on their own website, officially) it is on schedule for a release in the autumn.

I agree this would be big, but why would they devote an entire Ready-Up episode to the release and pre-order info? Ready-Up is all about gameplay, so that is why I don’t think they’ll devote it to this info. Perhaps a mention after a website blog post, but not the entire episode.
removed earlier quote…..

With the opening of the pre-order they would also need a new teaser trailer, that goes more in depth into the specifications (specialisation, mastery tracks, subzones, etc). It would also be good to go over all info again we know now, cause it is an extra boost to buy. So opening the pre-order, showing the new trailer and going through everything we know so far would fill a show nicely. I haven’t heard we are actually getting a ready up. We only know they are doing something big. So it might as well be another PoI, or a “Ready of interests” with both hosts)

Anyone got a time in the last PoI when Rubi was talking about this weeks article? I watched most of the video, but missed end of normal section and skipped the pvp section.
Please give us a keyring…
It was at the very end, so if you pan to PvP101 then back it up you should find it.
I just googled up their twitter and facebook. Apparently there is no teaser image yet today that I can find to hint at Thursday’s blog. Darn it.
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.
Looks like “Nothing, but will roll some content to the live game” was the most correct answer (although new map changes isn’t content at all). ~whee

The week is far from over.
And to be fair even if it was Friday today, it will still be a weird comment by you, since your thread was about what the next HoT reveal was. The LA-thingy is not a HoT-reveal, therefore it is not the next HoT-reveal

Quite so! If you’ve been watching the last few weeks’ reveals you’ll note that the big blogs came on Thursdays. Sometimes 3rd party sites managed to release articles on Wednesday that mostly said the same things as the blogs. Saying we’re not getting a reveal this week just because Tuesday had a significant change to a map is rather premature.

Actually if you had REALLY been watching then you’d know that the past few weeks of revelas have had the theme of the reveal given on Monday or Tuesday via a post/image from Anet. This Monday/Tuesday has the reveal of LA being rebuilt, so based on the last 4 weeks this means the blog on Thursday will be related to the rebuilding of LA.

So maybe the rebuilding of LA has something to do with how we acquire guild halls. A services hub where we can go to preview and select which one we want, or to enlist npcs for features or buildings. After all, in GW1, we had to go to an NPC who then took us on a tour of available halls when we wanted to select one. So it’s not completely out there to think they have some type of services hub for the new halls
Or it could be some other aspect of something we’re getting in HoT. We don’t know as yet, but it’s highly unlikely that ‘LA is being rebuilt’ is all we’re getting as a reveal this week. I would like to believe they wouldn’t devote a whole twitch to just that.

I thought it was stated somewhere (an interview iirc) that GH would be based/founded/discovered/whatever in the jungle? So preview/etc wouldn’t be possible in LA.

I think it was said that it would be available to those that bought the expansion. I don’t recall if they specifically said we’d discover them and such that way. Hell, even if they did, is it really that unbelievable that they changed up some of the ‘how’ and ‘why’ between then and now?

Clearly you don’t remember the week of the “frogs”… I think Anet is very capable of making a whole twitch dedicated to just that.
I’m hoping they finish the reveal of Revenant, then get back to specs, then finish with Revenant specs.
I hope so too I want to know as much as possible about the revenant
Just wishful thinking I’m hoping it’s either
Guild halls
Finished revenant details
A new near finished WvW borderland
Or a batch of new legendarys teased threw the precursors that are not yet sprung to life

I found the Hylek twitch to be quite entertaining and informative. This isn’t quite on the same level though. The new Hylek are both friend and foe. They covered lore, attack animations, etc. LA is simply being rebuilt…there isn’t new lore, or new battles, and they sure as heck aren’t going to show us images of the finished product.
