What's the special title and...
Whilst i disagree with of the sentiment across the forums regarding the pricing etc, this i can more empathise with. Pre purchasing info without a release date does seem a bit odd.
Edit. Huh i had forgotten it was the case with the core game

Just as with the original pre-purchase of Guild Wars 2, the release date will be announced later. It was 2 months between pre-purchase and release date announcement for the core game.
There will probably be somewhere between 2 and 5 beta weekends, if the past is any indication.
The pre-purchase bonus title is Maguuma Trailblazer. You can find the information about the pre-purchase bonuses here, in the official blog: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/guild-wars-2-heart-of-thorns-is-available-for-pre-purchase/
Good luck.
Just for FYI I will edit in the original pre-purchase/release announcement/release timeline.
Pre-purchase began – April 2012
Game release announcement – June 2012
Game release – August 2012

What’s the special title and… who cares!
No really, who’s gonna wear it anyway.
ty inculpatus. Nice that the info is there, just think it should be on the actual purchase page too. Wouldn’t that make sense?
Evans, I’ve actually seen someone in game wearing it, but with so many random titles in the game, I had no idea where they got it. It should’ve been “HoT prepurchaser”.
Well of course some people will wear it, but what I meant is that it’s basically worthless.
“Maguuma Trailblazer”
It’s not an accomplishment and It’s only got a little bit of thematic flavor. I’m not interested in the slightest on any of my characters.
That’s actually part of my thoughts Evans. Let’s throw the title out cause it is kinda hokey and not even close to as fancy as some of the other titles out there (btw, when are wvw title requirements gonna be lowered as was promised over a year ago?). Why are people even prepurchasing? Just to get into a handful of beta weekends? To this day, “free beta” is the best strategy ever conceived in the video game industry. "Hey, let’s get people to play test our game in the guise of a “free beta”, which will save us money AND people will actually pay for the ‘privilege.’" Genius!

Agreed. But yea, everyone wants to get some first hand experience with the game I suppose.

I plan on wearing it with my character that is out there helping newbies. Since almost all for the near future will have access to that title (and no others) they will probably wear it anyway once they figure out titles so it would make me seem more sympathetic.
The funny thing is I normally tag up while doing so and send a map chat to look for the (color) icon on their map if they need help. So combining a tag I got for WVW (and 300 G) with a non-achieve title looks a bit …. strange.
As to the betas I am doing a ‘wait and see’ approach. We do not know when they are or if we can be online at those times.
my title is a tormentor, i’m dressed up in all exclusive fire gear that can’t be bought.
Think anyone notices me ? -sniffle – no.
You may not have been around during the core game’s betas, but there were events during those BWEs that were one of a kind, such as the Hunger Games, and others.
Some players are interested in that kind of unique content, so beta access can be something players covet.
Maguuma Trailblazer might as well be changed to Giddy Fanboy.
Wake me up when I can roll a Revenant for $50 or less without deleting character. Sure, even that’s a bit overpriced, but I’d pay it.
