Does the beta characters that we created stays or carry over once HoT becomes live?

I haven’t tried to create them and it would be such a waste if the beta characters and its progress will disappear once the expansion starts. Did Anet said anything about it?

The beta characters will not carry over to live,its the same for every beta test.

They will certainly go when expac starts as any beta toon would for a game.
I understood that they will continue progress between each beta though.
