When to get HoT?
Im getting back into the game. I do not have an lvl 80 yet. Outside of Revenant, am I missing anything without the expansion?

Don’t get it yet…or maybe never. It’s a big mess right now, we don’t know if Anet will ever fix it. A lot of people are getting refunds and just sticking with the original GW2, you won’t be missing much except the Rev.
Relax, have fun and wait until you reach level 80. There is a ton of content in the base GW 2 game so no need to rush. You may want to join a Guild so you will have players/Friends to join when your ready for HoT.

The starting zones in HoT will be completely empty in a week and then you won´t be able to progress.
