Where is the element of surprise in Maguuma?

Today I spent time exploring the new HoT areas, and throughout my exploration in the jungle thus far, I found there to be no element of surprise, that is to say: Spiders descending down on players from trees, various enemy types darting from bushes or shrubbery on the ground (like leaf piles) out of nowhere to ambush / attack players, or exotic enemies who are camouflaged that are hard to see so as to barely be noticeable.

Overall, the Maguuma area is a jungle area more than any other place in the game so far and I think enemies should use the surroundings of Maguuma to their advantage. That would make the Maguuma area more interesting rather than experiencing linear combat where what you immediately see is what you hit/kill in a jungle area no less.

Roughly 90% of the combat in this game is linear already in the open world no matter where you go, so why make the Maguuma area the same way? Give players the element of surprise! The Maguuma area is a lvl 80 area and should operate like one.

P.S. Other open world areas, like areas throughout the Shiverpeak Mountains, can also use an element of surprise, for example, ice creatures coming out of/forming out of snowy walls where only their eyes are visible when you walk passed them. Maybe even rock creatures/golems coming out of cave walls would also be a neat form of surprise.

The possibilities are endless and I do not understand why the development team is not running with ways to implement more elements of surprise throughout Maguuma and the rest of the game.
