Guild Wars 2

Hello all!

I’ve been playing for about a month now and really fell in love with the game. I got my warrior up to around level 30, and when I bought the game I used a level 80 boost on a brand new Ranger account. I’ve been playing around with it, doing some personal story quests (up to level 40), pvp and wvw for some tomes of knowledge and what not, but now I wan’t to unlock masteries.

I searched around and saw I needed to complete the second part of the HoT questline to unlock the masteries, but I can’t find where it is ingame. I saw on another thread that you didn’t need to complete the personal story, but i’m starting to think that I do.. I watched a video on where the first quest is located in Silverwastes and the instance activator wasn’t there for me.

tl;dr How do I activate the HoT story for a brand new boosted level 80 account? What are the requirements?

Go to hero panel. You can activate segments in the story section.

Go to your hero panel, and select the story journal (fourth tab down, with a star icon). You should be able to select the HoT story from there and set it as your active story.
