So I couldn’t think of a better place to post this, but I just wanted to say how cool and amazing it was to see this topic:

This is a prime example of what can be achieved when a Dev shows he cares and approaches his community. The community recognize his efforts, comes back with constructive stuff and you have both sides working together for a better game.
Now take a look at other forums, such as Elementalist and Guardian (for professions) or take a look at WvW forums.
Those are all filled with complaints, curse words, questions on the competence of the team behind those areas etc. (I am no saint, I also participate and made my on complaints in those levels).
These are all, however, mostly product of neglect and lack communication between the teams responsible and the respective communities.
The community on one side does not understand where the Dev team is going with their changes (and thus questions arise on whether they are competent, know what they are doing, etc) and the Dev team just gets more frustrated because all their work is met only with criticism and complaints (thus leaving them unmotivated and more distant to the community).
An example of this neglect and what it does can be best seen in this topic:

ANET, you want this game to thrive for several years? You want to have the community going out there and helping the game grow?
Well, do not shut it down. Talk to it and make peace with it. You would be surprised at how many other “Appreciation threads” can come out of that and how the game can grow.
